>>> GOOD MORNING, BUILD SERIES. MY NAME IS JEFF BENJAMIN. WE ARE KICKING OFF THIS MONDAY IN A REALLY, REALLY EXCITING WAY. WE HAVE SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN -- SPENT NINE YEARS, ALMOST A DECADE, AS ONE OF K-POP'S BIGGEST STARS, HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF GIRL GROUP F(X), A RECORD-BREAKING ACT WHO MADE A HUGE IMPACT AROUND ASIA AND EVEN AMERICA AS FIRST K-POP ACT TO PERFORM AT SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST. SHE HAS 1.2 MILLION YouTube SUBSCRIBERS, AND SHE IS CURRENTLY ON HER SOLO U.S. TOUR, THE "GONE ROGUE" U.S. TOUR. LAST NIGHT HERE IN NEW YORK CITY, SHE HAS COLLABORATED WITH PENTATONIX, MORE THAN A DOZEN MUSIC VIDEOS DIRECTED BY HER. I DON'T WANT TO EVEN HOLD BACK ANY LONGER. LET'S BRING OUT AMBER LIU. [CHEERING AND APPLAUSE].

>> HELLO.

>> HELLO, AMBER.

>> HI, JEFF.

>> HOW IS IT GOING?

>> I'M GOOD. HOW ARE YOU?

>> I'M GOOD. I MEAN YOU HAVE -- I GOT TO SEE YOU -- HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS WERE AT THE SHOW LAST NIGHT AT IRVING PLAZA?

>> YOU, YOU! I'M WATCHING YOU. THANK YOU. I AM A COWARD. THANK YOU. [ INAUDIBLE COMMENT ].

>> ALL RIGHT. IT IS A FAMILY SHOW, OKAY. I DON'T WANT TO SEE NO JERRY SPRINGER SITUATIONS OVER HERE. AMBER, YOU JUST HAD YOUR SOLD-OUT SHOW AT IRVING PLAZA LAST NIGHT. CONGRATULATIONS.

>> THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

>> I THOUGHT IT WAS AN AWESOME SHOW IN SO MANY WAYS. WHAT DID YOU DO LAST NIGHT? WERE YOU GOOD? DID YOU GO TO SLEEP?

>> I DON'T KNOW. I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT I DID LAST NIGHT. I WAS CLEANING FOR A BIT, AND WE'RE GOING TO DALLAS TONIGHT.

>> RIGHT. YOU WERE CLEANING A BIT? WHAT WERE YOU CLEANING, YOUR HOTEL ROOM?

>> YEAH. NO, ORGANIZING THINGS.

>> OKAY.

>> I DON'T KNOW. I KIND OF LOST TRACK OF MY PHONE SO I WAS LIKE FIGURING OUT THAT SITUATION. I DON'T KNOW, A LOT OF JUST WEIRD MILLENNIAL, BORING THINGS.

>> SOUNDS COOL ENOUGH.

>> YEAH.

>> DO YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME YOU PERFORMED IN NEW YORK?

>> YES, IT WAS AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN.

>> WAS ANYONE ACTUALLY AT THAT SHOW BACK IN 2011? SM TOWN.

>> SM TOWN, YEAH.

>> FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW, THAT IS --

>> LIKE A LABEL CONCERT.

>> YES, YOU GUYS, YOUR GIRL GROUP F(X), ALL OF THOSE UNDER THE RECORD LABEL PERFORMED. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME FOR THEM TO PERFORM AT MADISON SQUARE GARDENS.

>> IT WAS THAT LONG AGO?

>> IT WAS. I'M CURIOUS. YOU JUST WRAPPED UP YOUR OWN U.S. SOLO SHOW IN NEW YORK. WHAT IS THE MINDSET BETWEEN BACK THEN AND NOW? CAN YOU EVEN GO BACK THAT FAR?

>> UH, WELL, THE BIGGEST THING IS, YOU KNOW, I'M BY MYSELF AT THE MOMENT.

>> YES.

>> SO IT IS LIKE, YOU KNOW, THE DYNAMICS WITHOUT THE GIRLS, IT IS WAY DIFFERENT. IT IS A LOT MORE LONELIER, BUT THEN ALSO A LOT MORE INTIMATE IN CERTAIN WAYS. BUT I DON'T KNOW. LIKE BACK THEN, I WAS JUST REALLY YOUNG. I START WHEN I WAS LIKE 16.

>> YOU GUYS WERE TWO YEARS INTO IT AT THAT POINT.

>> YEAH, AND I'M 26 NOW.

>> RIGHT.

>> SO I HAVE WRINKLES NOW, SO THAT'S --

>> NO, YOU DON'T!

>> AND BACK PROBLEMS. [ INAUDIBLE COMMENT ].

>> THANK YOU. YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL, TOO. [ [ INAUDIBLE ] COMMENT.

>> YEAH, I AM. I ALWAYS WILL BE 12 AT HEART.

>> ME TOO. IT WAS AMAZING ENERGY LAST NIGHT. I WANT TO TALK THROUGH A COUPLE OF POINTS ON THE SHOW, BECAUSE I THINK IT IS A REALLY SPECIAL SHOW AND SOMETHING WE DON'T SEE A LOT IN THE K-POP SPACE BUT KIND OF MUSIC IN GENERAL. YOU KNOW, IT WAS -- I DON'T WANT TO MESS UP THE QUOTE, BUT I FELT LIKE THE MOST POWERFUL PART OF THE NIGHT YOU SAID AFTER THREE SONGS, THIS IS A LOVE-YOURSELF ZONE. I DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR YOUR SKIN IS, HOW TALL YOU ARE, WHO YOU LOVE, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT. I WANT YOU TO BE COMFORTABLE HERE. I THINK K-POP CONCERTS, THEY CAN OF HAVE IN THE PAST, THEY FEEL THAT WAY BUT IT IS NEVER SAID OUT LOUD LIKE THAT. I'M CURIOUS, WHY IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO TAKE A MOMENT TO SAY THAT IN YOUR SHOW.

>> I THINK LIKE PERSONALLY, ALL I WANT TO DO IS -- YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU'RE IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE YOU ARE TOTALLY COMFORTABLE, YOU ARE JUST LIKE, YEAH. YOU KNOW WHAT? I DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO THINK LIKE WHEN THEY COME TO MY SHOW, I WANT THEM TO JUST, YOU KNOW, BE IN THEIR OWN ZONE, BECAUSE I THINK PEOPLE, I GUESS, TAKE IN MUSIC DIFFERENTLY. YOU KNOW, DEFINITELY THE WAY I TAKE IN MUSIC IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT FROM YOURS, AND JUST TO EMBRACE IT AND THEN TO, I GUESS, EXPRESS IT THROUGH YOUR BODY IN WHATEVER WAY YOU WANT IS THE FREEDOM I WANT TO GIVE TO PEOPLE BECAUSE THAT'S THE THING THAT I LIKE AS WELL. SO, YOU KNOW, THE FANS WHEN THEY LET ME DO WHAT I WANT TO DO, I WANT THEM TO DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO AS WELL.

>> I LOVE THAT. AND I REALLY FELT IT BECAUSE I WAS STANDING -- YOU KNOW, I THINK IT WAS -- I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNOW THIS, YOUR FRIEND, BUT THERE WAS A FABULOUS MAN IN PINK AND PURPLE GLASSES.

>> OH, THAT'S MIKE.

>> HE WAS SHOUTING FOR YOU. AND I WAS IN BETWEEN HIM AND MY JOURNALIST FRIENDS. IT WAS KIND OF AMAZING. I WAS LIKE, WOW, K-POP CONCERTS FELT DIVERSE IN THE PAST, BUT I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL ABOUT THAT AUDIENCE IN PARTICULAR.

>> YEAH. AGAIN, LIKE I MENTIONED THIS AT THE SHOW YESTERDAY AND MY PAST SHOWS, TOO. THERE'S SO MUCH CRAP GOING ON RIGHT NOW, AND LET'S JUST -- AND, YEAH, REALITY DOES SUCK, BUT WE'RE AT A SHOW, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FUN. LET'S JUST TURN THAT OFF FOR A BIT OR LET'S FORGET IT, AND THAT'S WHAT MY GOAL IS. IT IS JUST LIKE LET'S HAVE A SAFE ZONE TOGETHER, YOU KNOW.

>> SAFE ZONE.

>> WHERE NO ONE IS GOING TO JUDGE YOU BY THE WAY YOU'RE DRESSED, YOUR HAIR OR ANYTHING. YOU KNOW, LET'S JUST CHILL AND GO CRAZY TOGETHER. THAT'S ALL.

>> I LIKE THAT. I MEAN, GUYS, LIKE -- YEAH. [ APPLAUSE ]

>> AND TO ME TOO, I FELT LIKE THERE WERE A LOT OF EMPOWERING MOMENTS. LIKE THERE WERE TIMES, I HAVE A COUPLE OF PHOTOS ON MY PHONE, WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE LEADING THE ARMY. THERE ARE, LIKE, DIFFERENT MOMENTS.

>> A LLAMA CULT, LET'S GO.

>> THE LLAMA CULT, I ACTUALLY LOVE THAT. YOU ARE SHOUTING, "NEVER TURN BACK" ON "HIGH HOPES." THERE WERE SO MANY. DO YOU FEEL THOSE MOMENTS YOURSELF WHILE YOU'RE ON STAGE?

>> THE FUNNY THING WAS I WASN'T PLANNING TO LEAD THOSE THINGS. IT JUST HAPPENED DURING THE SHOW. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU HAVE MONITORS IN YOU CAN'T FULLY HEAR THINGS, BUT THEN WHEN I HEAR THOSE WORDS, I'M LIKE, OH, OKAY, YEAH, YEAH, GO AHEAD, LIKE GO AHEAD, YOU GUYS SING IT.

>> I LOVE THAT.

>> YOU KNOW, MUSIC IS ALWAYS LIKE -- IT IS NOT LIKE, OH, I'M GOING TO HEAR A SONG, OH, OKAY, IT IS GOOD, DONE. NO, I HOPE THE MUSIC IS STILL SOMETHING PEOPLE CAN LISTEN TO AND EMBRACE AND INTERPRET THEMSELVES AND JUST FEEL, YOU KNOW, NOT JUST LISTEN TO. SO WHETHER, YOU KNOW, THEY WANT TO SHOUT THAT TO, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVED IN IT, LIKE, HELL, YEAH, WHY NOT.

>> YEAH.

>> I WOULD RATHER NOT TAKE THAT MOMENT AWAY FROM THEM.

>> YEAH.

>> THAT'S YOUR TIME. YOU GUYS CAN DO THAT.

>> I LOVE THAT. AND, YOU KNOW, ANOTHER REALLY SPECIAL MOMENT IN THE CONCERTS -- BY THE WAY, THERE ARE STILL DATES ON THE CONCERT.

>> YES.

>> WE HAVE SOME MORE DATES COMING. YOU CAN STILL SEE AMBER. HOPEFULLY WE WILL SEE YOU MORE IN 2019 AS WELL.

>> YES.

>> ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOMENTS WAS "BORDERS." THE SONG CAME OUT IN 2016, I BELIEVE.

>> YES.

>> AND YOU SHARED A BIT ABOUT THE STORY AT THE SHOW. I DON'T WANT TO GIVE TOO MANY SPOILERS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT YOU SPOKE HOW IT WAS INSPIRED BY YOUR MOM, A FIRST GENERATION IMMIGRANT. YOU NOW AS A SECOND GENERATION IMMIGRANT IN AMERICAN, AND THE WAY YOU GUYS CONNECTED AND WHAT YOU EVENTUALLY -- THE WAY YOU EMPATHIZE WITH HER IN THAT WAY. WHY IS THE SONG LIKE "BORDERS" IMPORTANT, ESPECIALLY NOW DAYS? YOU TALKED ABOUT HOW THINGS ARE A BIT SCREWED UP IN THIS WORLD.

>> YES, I THINK IT ALL STEMS DOWN TO WHEN WE WERE YOUNG, DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. I THINK THAT'S SOMETHING THAT EVEN, YOU KNOW, AT MY AGE NOW OR PEOPLE EVEN OLDER THAN ME, WE KIND OF DON'T -- WE DON'T TAKE IT TO HEART. LIKE IT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU LEARN WHEN YOU ARE SIX, FIVE, FOUR OR IN THAT AGE RANGE, BUT WE ALWAYS SAY IT BUT DO WE ACTUALLY PUT IT INTO ACTION? SO WITH "BORDERS" LIKE, YOU KNOW, IT IS JUST -- I DON'T KNOW. I THINK I UNKNOWINGLY JUST KIND OF SHUT THAT PART OFF, AND JUST TO FINALLY REALIZE I WAS MAYBE HURTING LIKE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON TO ME IN MY LIFE AND KIND OF NOW BEING ABLE TO, LIKE, SPEAK TO MY MOM ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL. I'M TRYING TO LEARN CHINESE TO TALK TO HER.

>> REALLY?

>> YES, MY CHINESE IS REALLY BAD. BUT, YOU KNOW, SHE HAS BEEN SENDING ME VOICE MESSAGES EVERY DAY SAYING SHE IS PRAYING FOR ME AND THAT SHE HOPES -- THAT I HOPE -- THAT SHE HOPES THAT I'M DOING WELL. SO, YOU KNOW, ONCE YOU CAN REALLY PUT YOUR -- LIKE WHEN YOU CAN REALLY EMPATHIZE WITH SOMEBODY ON A CERTAIN LEVEL, I THINK IT REALLY JUST CHANGES THE DYNAMIC OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP. YOU KNOW, YOU KIND OF REALIZE A LOT OF THINGS YOU NEVER REALLY NOTICED BEFORE AND, LIKE, YOU -- ESPECIALLY LIKE MY MOM, IT IS MY MOM. I WAS A WEIRD KID, SO, AS YOU GUYS CAN SEE, I WAS A WEIRD KID. I STILL AM. BUT, YOU KNOW, SHE PUTS UP A LOT AND SHE STILL LOVES ME UNCONDITIONALLY. THAT'S SOMETHING I WANT TO RECIPROCATE BACK TO THE PEOPLE THAT GIVE ME SUPPORT OR, YOU KNOW, THAT EVEN YELL AT ME OR HATE ME. LIKE I JUST WANT TO LOVE PEOPLE AND, YOU KNOW, LOVE. THAT'S ALL I WANT TO DO.

>> IT IS A GOOD MESSAGE FOR 2018 FOR SURE.

>> YES.

>> AND 2019 MOVING FORWARD.

>> YES.

>> AND SOMETHING ACTUALLY I LOVED IN THE SHOW TOO IS THAT YOU WERE TALKING A BIT ABOUT LOVE AND KIND OF THIS -- THE CONFIDENCE THAT PEOPLE, THAT YOUR FANS GIVE YOU AND CROWDS GIVE YOU.

>> YES.

>> BUT YOU SAY -- YOU TALKED ABOUT THE RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIP.

>> YES.

>> AND THAT THEY GIVE IT TO YOU BUT YOU ALSO HOPE THAT YOU GIVE IT TO THEM. CAN YOU TALK A BIT ABOUT WHAT IT'S BEEN LIKE GETTING FACE-TO-FACE TIME WITH THE FANS ON THIS "GONE ROGUE" TOUR AND WAS IT HAS MEANT TO YOU AS WELL?

>> I WAS TALKING WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER JUSTIN, WHO IS OPENING FOR ME, ABOUT THIS. IT IS LIKE, YOU KNOW, IT IS MY FIRST SOLO TOUR. IT IS THE FIRST TIME I'M SEEING A LOT OF THE FANS OR SOMEBODY, LIKE, MIGHT HAVE SEEN ME YEARS AGO BUT IT HAS BEEN A WHILE, AND IT IS, LIKE, WHEN I'M IN KOREA OR JUST, YOU KNOW, DOING MY OTHER WORK, I SEE THE VIEWS ON YouTube OR I SEE THE INSTAGRAM LIKES, BUT I'M NOW SEEING THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE LIKES. PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY YouTube CHANNEL THAT MUCH. YEAH, I HAVE, QUOTE, UNQUOTE, NUMBERS, BUT NO ONE REALLY KNOWS. SUDDENLY THEY'RE LIKE, OH, MY GOSH, I WATCHED THAT ONE VIDEO, IT IS REALLY COOL. I'M LIKE, YOU WATCHED THAT? WHAT? IT IS LIKE ALL COMING AT ONCE NOW, AND IT IS CRAZY AND SURREAL. I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO REACT BECAUSE I'M JUST LIKE, OH, YOU WATCHED -- OH, YOU WATCHED THAT VIDEO. OH. YOU KNOW, I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW THANKFUL I AM TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING ME FOR SO LONG. YOU KNOW, A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAYING, I FOLLOWED YOU SINCE YOUR DEBUT. I'M JUST LIKE, YOU ALL KNOW THAT'S TEN YEARS AGO, AND THEY'RE MEETING ME FOR THE FIRST TIME. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAYING, OH, MY GOSH, YOU'RE REAL. I'M ALL, LIKE, OH, MY GOSH, YOU ARE REAL. SO IT IS LIKE A BACK-AND-FORTH TYPE OF THING.

>> I LOVE THAT. I LOVE THAT. YEAH, WE WILL MAYBE GET A LITTLE MORE FACE TIME IN A LITTLE BIT.

>> YES.

>> BUT I WANT TO REAL QUICK, CAN WE TALK ABOUT COUNTDOWN FOR A SECOND? HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD, COUNTDOWN? YES. WHEN I HEARD IT, I WAS LIKE, OKAY, THIS IS DANCIE AMBER IS BACK. YOU DID IT WITH YOUR BOY, LONDON NOISE, WHO SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF YOU.

>> I LOVE THEM.

>> WE DID THE VIDEO PREMIERE AT PAPER. TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WRITING THAT TRACK, WHY IT WAS TIME TO PUT OUT THAT TRACK, THE MUSIC VIDEO THAT YOU DIRECTED?

>> SO WE WROTE THAT TRACK AROUND, I THINK, TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO.

>> OKAY.

>> THEY'RE IN KOREA, SO WE WROTE THE TRACK. WE WERE JUST IN A SESSION. IT WAS REALLY FUN. LIKE HIDDEN AND GREG ARE AMAZING GUYS. WE BUMPED IT OUT AND SAT ON IT FOR A WHILE. WE HAD A COUPLE OF EDITS HERE AND THERE, POTENTIAL RELEASE TIMES WHERE WE WERE WORKING ON IT A LITTLE BIT MORE, BUT IT WAS JUST THERE. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW, MY FRIEND ERIC WAS SHOOTING MUSIC VIDEO IN LONDON, I HAPPENED TO BE THERE AT THAT TIME. THE PART. \M YEAH, YEAH, COUNT THAT \M ACTUALLY ORIGINALLY WASN'T IN THE SONG ORIGINALLY. I'M GLAD I CHANGED IT. WHILE I WAS HELPING HIM WITH THE MUSIC VIDEO, THAT LINE CAME INTO MY HEAD. IT WAS LIKE, HOW DO I FIX THIS SONG OR HOW DO I UPGRADE? BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, IT HAS KIND OF BEEN COLLECTING DUST FOR A WHILE. AND THEN HIDDEN AND GREG FROM HIDDEN NOISE THEY WERE LIKE, OH, THIS IS SO DUB. WE RECORDED IT, WE UPPED THE PRODUCTION AND WE EVEN REARRANGED IT, REFORMATTED IT IN A WAY. WENT THROUGH A COUPLE OF SURGERIES AND IT IS WHAT IT IS TODAY.

>> I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. THANKS FOR TAKING US THROUGH THE PROCESS.

>> OH, IT'S -- EVERY SONG IS WEIRD. EVERY SONG IS -- LIKE ERIC IS FILMING HIS MUSIC VIDEO AND BEING ALL EMOTIONAL AND I'M ON THE SIDE GOING. \M HEY, HEY, COUNTDOWN \M

>> YOU KILLED IT. I THINK IT IS A GREAT TRACK.

>> THANK YOU.

>> IT HAS DONE QUITE WELL. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU GUYS.

>> THANK YOU.

>> I TEASED THIS AT THE SHOW LAST NIGHT. I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU. I HAVE TO GIVE A SHOT OUT TO THE ME-YOU, THE AMBER FANS AROUND THE WORLD THAT HEARD MY CALL. IF SOMEONE COULDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO SEE YOU ON THE "GONE ROGUE" TOUR, GET THE CHANCE TO ALSO JUST GIVE A LITTLE MESSAGE TO YOU IN THAT WAY. SO WE HAVE A COUPLE OF FAN MESSAGES THAT ARE JUST SOMETHING A LITTLE SPECIAL FOR AMBER ONLY ON BUILD. OUR FIRST VIDEO COMES FROM SAVANNAH BLOOM, IF WE CAN PULL UP.

>> HI, AMBER. I'M SAVANNAH. I'M 17 YEARS OLD, AND I STARTED TO GET INTO K-POP IN THE SUMMER OF 2015, SO I REALLY HAVE YOU WITH ME THROUGH MY MOST FORMATIVE YEARS. I WAS REALLY DRAWN TO YOU AND YOUR MUSIC ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF HOW UNAPOLOGETICALLY AND AUTHENTICALLY YOU PRESENTED YOURSELF TO THE WORLD. AND TO HAVE THAT MESSAGE OF EMBRACING YOURSELF AND NOT WILTING DOWN TO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE EXPECT OF YOU OR WANT YOU TO BE WAS EXTREMELY SPECIAL TO ME AS I WAS GROWING UP. I WAS OFTEN TOLD THAT I WAS TOO MUCH OR I WAS TOO LOUD AND THAT I CARED TOO MUCH, AND SO I FOUND MYSELF STARTING TO BE ONLY A WHISPER OF WHAT I ACTUALLY WAS. BUT BECAUSE OF YOU I HAVE STARTED TO FIND MY VOICE AGAIN AND HAVE COME TO REALIZE THAT IF I FIND MY WAY I CAN BE EVERY FACET OF MYSELF, INCLUDING THE PARTS THAT PEOPLE TOLD ME I SHOULDN'T BE. I LOVE YOU AND I'M INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, SAVANNAH.

>> I DON'T KNOW -- AHHH.

>> IT IS A FUZZY, FEELING SHOW. YOU SAID YOU NEVER KNOW HOW TO RESPOND.

>> I REALLY DON'T. I DON'T KNOW. IT IS LIKE I -- I DON'T KNOW. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ME FOR A WHILE, I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT -- YOU KNOW, I WAS LIKE -- WHEN I WAS DOING MUSIC AND I STARTED WRITING, PEOPLE KEPT TELLING ME, LIKE, YOU KNOW, YOUR STUFF SUCKS, YOU KNOW. THEY'RE TELLING ME A LOT OF REALLY JUST -- THINGS THAT HURT MY CONFIDENCE AND TORE MY -- YOU KNOW, JUST MYSELF DOWN. I ACTUALLY NEVER MENTIONED THIS BEFORE. YEAH, THAT'S WHAT HAPPEN, BUT IT WAS GOING ON. AND TO KIND OF MAYBE -- I WAS STARTING OFF AT THAT TIME, BUT I WAS JUST REALLY TRYING AND I WAS LIKE, YOU KNOW, WHATEVER I PUT MY MIND TO, IT IS GOING TO COME TO PASS. IT IS GOING TO COME TO PASS. THOSE COMMENTS ARE GOING TO FADE AWAY. I'M GOING TO BE ABLE TO RELEASE MY MUSIC. I'M GOING TO BE ABLE TO SING. I'M GOING TO BE ABLE TO DANCE THE WAY I WANT TO AND, YOU KNOW, NOW THAT I SEE PEOPLE LIKE SAVANNAH JUST SAYING THAT, IT KIND OF LIKE -- LIKE THANKS, GUYS. IT REALLY MEANS A LOT. YOU KNOW, LIKE, YOU KNOW, YOU GUYS HAVE PROBABLY SEEN ME THROUGH THE PROCESS OF IT. YOU KNOW, I STARTED OFF IN F(X) AND I'M JUST DOING MY THING NOW. I'LL TALK ABOUT THE GIRLS YESTERDAY, TOO, SO IT WAS VERY COOL. YEAH. OH, MAN. YEAH, I DON'T KNOW.

>> WE'RE PROUD OF YOU. I KNOW I'M PROUD OF YOU.

>> YOU, SIR, HAVE BEEN BEHIND THE SCENES THE WHOLE TIME.

>> MAYBE, MAYBE. NO, I STILL REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME WE MET.

>> YEAH.

>> IT FELT CHAOTIC AND THINGS LIKE THAT, JUST LOTS OF THINGS GOING ON, BUT IT IS AMAZING TO GET TO SEE YOU. WE'RE PROUD OF YOU. I'M PROUD OF YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

>> GREAT TO HAVE A CHAT WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. SO, YEAH, I KNOW SAVANNAH IS NOT THE ONLY WAY THAT FEELS THIS WAY AS WELL. IF WE CAN PULL UP ONE MORE VIDEO. ONE I LOVED FROM AFSANNA KHAN, IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET THAT ONE UP. WE HAVE ONE MORE MESSAGE.

>> HI, AMBER. CONGRATS ON YOUR SOLO TOUR. I'M SO PROUD OF YOU FOR DOING ALL OF THE AMAZING THINGS YOU HAVE BEEN DOING. YOU HAVE IMPACTED LIVES IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT WAYS THAT I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO LIST. I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF YOURS SINCE I WAS 13 AND I'M THE 2 NOW, SO YOU HAVE IMPACTED ME QUITE A BIT.

>> NINE YEARS.

>> I WILL USE MY COLLEGE GRADUATION AS AN EXAMPLE. I RECENTLY GRADUATED AND MY BIGGEST DILEMMA AT THE TIME AFTER FINALS WAS DECIDING IF I WANT TO WEAR A DRESS OR NOT, WHICH I'M NOT COMFORTABLE WEARING. BUT, YOU KNOW, I WANTED TO BE COMFORTABLE AND, YOU KNOW, BE TRUE TO MYSELF. SO I WENT IN WEARING A WHOLE NICE FORMAL SUIT, AND I NEVER FELT MORE COMFORTABLE. I WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THAT DECISION IF NOT FOR YOU, AND JUST LIKE, YOU KNOW, BEING -- SEEING YOU BE YOU AND I WANT TO BE TRUE TO ME. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'M ALWAYS GRATEFUL FOR YOU, ALWAYS ROOTING FOR YOU AND F(X), SO GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, AFSANNA.

>> PANTS ARE SO COMFORTABLE. PANTS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE.

>> I AGREE. ESPECIALLY IT IS FREEZING HERE.

>> YEAH.

>> YOU GUYS DIDN'T SEE IT EARLIER, BUT AMBER WAS ALL BUNDLED UP, LIKE LAYING DOWN BACKSTAGE.

>> I'M LIKE 100% FROM CALI. LIKE ANY LIGHT TEMPERATURE DROP, I'M LIKE --

>> YEAH. BUT, YOU KNOW, THERE ARE MORE VIDEOS AND THERE WERE SO MANY FANS WHO JUST -- I WAS THINKING, OKAY, MAYBE. IT IS A BIG ASK TO GET SOMEONE TO FILM SOMETHING FOR THEM, BUT THERE ARE VIDEOS THAT I DON'T FEEL LIKE WE HAVE TIME TO. THANK YOU TO ME-YOU, THE FANS AROUND THE WORLD THAT CAME OUT. YOU HAVE SO MANY FANS, SO MANY ARAB FANS THAT WANTED TO SHARE THEIR MESSAGES.

>> OH, WOW.

>> I HAVE SOME TO SHOW YOU ON MY PHONE LATER.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

>> THANK YOU ALL.

>> WE HAVE A BIT OF TIME NOW FOR OUR LOVELY STUDIO AUDIENCE TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS. I BELIEVE WE HAVE TIME FOR ABOUT FOUR.

>> INTERROGATION TIME?

>> FOUR QUESTIONS. SO I BELIEVE -- YEAH, IT IS INTERROGATION TIME. IF WE COULD HAVE SOMEONE BRING UP AND ASK A QUESTION. COME ON UP. HELLO. WHAT IS YOUR NAME.

>> HASUME FROM JAPAN.

>> THANK YOU FOR COMING.

>> THANK YOU FOR COMING. NICE SWEATER.

>> HEY.

>> SINCE I KNOW DURING THIS -- THIS IS THE AMERICAN TOUR. I VISITED THE FIRST TIME IN CHICAGO AND ON TOP OF THE TOUR IN AMERICA, BUT IN INDIA AND IN JAPAN AND KOREA AND THE SINGAPORE FANS, WE ARE WAITING FOR AN ASIA TOUR. DO YOU HAVE PLANS TO VISIT ASIA?

>> THERE ARE ALWAYS PLANS. WE ARE TRYING TO WORK ON IT. DEFINITELY SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE, HOPEFULLY WORLD TOUR.

>> HEY.

>> YEAH, THAT WOULD BE FUN. [ APPLAUSE ]

>> IT IS THE FANS THAT MAKE IT HAPPEN. IT IS TRUE.

>> YEAH, IT IS YOU GUYS THAT MAKE IT HAPPEN, THAT'S TRUE, AND WE'RE DEFINITELY PUSHING FOR IT. YOU GUYS WILL SEE ME. THEY'LL SEE ME.

>> AMAZING. AMAZING. THANK YOU FOR THAT.

>> THANK YOU.

>> AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS TO COME HERE.

>> PLEASE GET SOME REST.

>> YES.

>> YOU TOO, AMBER. WHO DO WE HAVE NEXT?

>> I'M MOIRA. YOU HAVE BEEN REALLY HANDS-ON WITH YOUR MUSIC, DOING WRITING, PRODUCING AND DIRECTING. WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE PERFORMING SOMETHING YOU HAVE BEEN PART OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS FOR VERSUS PERFORMING SOMETHING SOMEONE ELSE CREATED?

>> GOOD QUESTION. USUALLY WHEN I'M DOING THE STUFF WITH MY GROUP, YOU KNOW, WE GET THE DEMO, WE HEAR IT, WE PRACTICE IT, WE RECORD IT, HEAR IT DURING THE MUSIC VIDEO, HEAR IT DURING THE PRACTICE AND PERFORM IT. PRETTY GOOD, RIGHT? I HEAR THE SONG 20 BILLION TIMES MORE OFTEN, SO I HATE MY VOICE EVEN MORE. I HEAR IT WHEN I'M WRITING, I HEAR IT WHEN I'M EDITING THE WRITING, AND NOW WHEN I'M RECORDING IT, AND THEN WHEN I MAKE THE MUSIC VIDEO AND FIGURING THAT OUT, AND THEN DURING THE MUSIC VIDEO AND THEN -- YEAH, IT IS JUST A LOT MORE OF HEARING MYSELF, WHICH IS VERY, VERY ANNOYING BECAUSE I JUST -- THIS PERSON HERE IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING.

>> SO MANY PHOTOS. I LOVE IT.

>> BUT IT IS CRAZY BECAUSE NOW THAT I'M ALSO INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS WITH MY FRIENDS, THEY HEAR IT DIFFERENTLY AND GETTING THEIR PERSPECTIVES ON HOW THEY INTERPRET MY MUSIC IS EXTREMELY REFRESHING. THEY'RE ALL LIKE, OH, YOU SAID THIS ABOUT THIS LYRIC, I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING THIS. I'M LIKE, THAT'S ACTUALLY DOPE, LET'S PUT THAT IN THE VIDEO. EVEN THOUGH I'M DIRECTING, EVERYBODY THAT'S INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT, YOU KNOW, PUTS SOME TYPE OF INFLUENCE INTO THE PROJECT. AS YOU CAN TELL HERE, I'M IN A TOP AND KIND OF IN A -- MY FRIEND STEPHANIE IS VERY, VERY AMBITIOUS. SHE ALWAYS PUTS ME SOMEHOW IN THE BATHROOM FOR EVERY ONE MUCH MY SHOOTS. SO I HAD CLOSED DOORS, SHE DIRECT THAT, SHE PUT ME IN THE SHOWER. SHE PRODUCED ""LOST AT SEA"" SO I WAS IN A BATHTUB. NOW I'M WEARING LITTLE CLOTHES. YOU KNOW, EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN THING AND THEY INFLUENCE ME IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND PUSH ME TO DO THINGS I WOULD USUALLY NEVER MAKE MYSELF DO. SO, YEAH, THAT'S HOW IT IS.

>> I LOVE THAT. THANK YOU FOR THAT.

>> HI, AMBER.

>> HI.

>> MY QUESTION SINCE YOU ARE LEAVING FOR DALLAS, SADLY, IS WHAT WILL YOU MISS THE MOST FROM NEW YORK?

>> SO I WAS TALKING WITH SOME OF THE STAFF YESTERDAY. NEW YORK HAS, HANDS DOWN, THE BEST FOOD. I'M SORRY TO ALL OF THE LOS ANGELES PEOPLE, NEW YORK HAS THE BEST FOOD. ALSO, IT IS -- THE CULTURE HERE IS SO AMAZING. I GUESS TO COMPARE IT TO MY HOMETOWN, L.A., I FEEL LIKE EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE BIT MORE SPREAD OUT BUT IN NEW YORK EVERYBODY IS KIND OF JUST, YOU KNOW, IN EVERY BLOCK, EVERYBODY IS VERY HOMEY. PEOPLE COMPLIMENT MY OUTFIT HERE. IT IS LIKE, THANK YOU, I WORKED REALLY HARD ON MY OUTFIT TODAY. THAT HOSPITALITY I WILL REALLY MISS. ONE THING I WON'T MISS IS THE COLD.

>> IT IS ONLY FOR NOW, SO COME BACK, YOU KNOW. OKAY. THANKS, LOVE YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU. AND I BELIEVE WE HAVE TIME FOR ONE MORE QUESTION. HELLO. WELCOME.

>> HI, AMBER. I WAS AT YOUR CONCERT LAST NIGHT WITH MY BEST FRIEND SHIRLEY. WE LOVED IT.

>> THANK YOU.

>> MY QUESTION IS WHAT INSPIRED THE NAMES FOR JACK JACK AND JUNA AND DO THEY STILL SPEAK CHINESE?

>> OKAY. SO JACK-JACK IS MY LITTLE SON FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW. JACK-JACK IS NOT -- IS NOT NAMED AFTER "THE INCREDIBLES" JACK-JACK, HE'S NAMED AFTER MY SISTER.

>> JUST TO CLARIFY, IT IS NOT YOUR SON BUT A DOG?

>> NO, MY FURRY SONG.

>> AMBER HAS NOT GIVEN BIRTH YET.

>> THAT TOTALLY SLIPPED MY MIND. JACKIE WAS LIKE, AMBER, NAME HIM AFTER ME. I'M LIKE, OKAY, JACK-JACK. RECENTLY IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM BECAUSE NOW THAT THEY'RE TOGETHER, BECAUSE I RECENTLY BROUGHT JACK-JACK TO THE STATES, I'VE BEEN YELLING AT JACK-JACK AND CALLING HIM JACKIE. WHEN I SEE MY SISTER I'M LIKE, JACK-JACK, OH, JACKIE. IT IS REALLY CONFUSING. AND THEN TUNA, I WAS LIKE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO -- LIKE WHAT DO I CALL HER. SHOULD I CALL HER WHISKERS OR JUMPY? I DON'T KNOW. I WAS LIKE, DUDE, IT WOULD BE REALLY FUN IF I NAMED HER TUNA. I DON'T KNOW, THE NAME KIND OF STUCK AND THEN IT JUST BECAME A THING. I WAS LIKE, YOU KNOW WHAT, SCREW IT, EXECUTIVE CALL, TUNA, THAT'S YOUR NAME, HERE YOU GO. JACK-JACK SPEAKS CHINESE. I'VE RECENTLY -- I'VE BEEN TEACHING HIM CIRCLE CHIN-CHIN, SO HE PUTS HIS NOSE IN MY HAND SO THAT'S REALLY CUTE. TUNA JUST DOESN'T CARE ABOUT LIFE, SO SHE JUST LIKE, HEY, OKAY, I'M GOING TO GO OVER HERE. SO, YEAH, THOSE ARE MY KIDS.

>> AWESOME. THANK YOU. LOVE YOU.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU. THANK YOU, GUYS, FOR THE AMAZING QUESTIONS. [ APPLAUSE ].

>> OH, TO CLARIFY, JACK-JACK IS A DOG AND TUNA IS A CAT.

>> WHISKERS AND THINGS LIKE THAT, I WAS LIKE, OKAY, PEOPLE ARE GETTING IT.

>> JUST IN CASE.

>> AMBER, THIS HAS BEEN REALLY AMAZING.

>> ARE WE DONE?

>> WE'VE BEEN TALKING OVER 20 MINUTES NOW.

>> NO.

>> THEY'RE ABOUT TO KICK ME OUT OF HERE.

>> OH, NO. WE'LL DO THIS AGAIN SOME TIME SOON.

>> OH, I HOPE SO. I HOPE SO.

>> THIS IS FUN.

>> AMBER, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE TOUR. "GONE ROGUE" TOUR STILL HAPPENING. WE HAVE SEVERAL DATES STILL IN AMERICA. WELL, THE ONES THAT AREN'T SOLD OUT YET. BUT, AMBER, REAL QUICK, WHAT CAN YOU TELL US, WHAT IS COMING IN 2019? WHAT CAN WE LOOK FORWARD TO? WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR CHRISTMAS?

>> I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS IN L.A., WHICH I'M EXCITED ABOUT, WITH MY SISTER, SO THAT'S COOL.

>> SHOUT OUT TO JACKIE.

>> SHOUT OUT TO JACKIE. SISTER, I LOVE YOU, DON'T GIVE ME MORE CRAP AT HOME, PLEASE. IN 2019, OH, IT IS GOING TO BE AN EVEN CRAZIER YEAR. SO I CAN'T GIVE AWAY SPOILERS, BUT, YEAH, BUT JUST KNOW THAT A BOMB IS GOING TO BE DROPPED. BOOM!

>> WE'RE VERY --

>> I DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE THE MIKE.

>> ENDING WITH A MIKE DROP.

>> YES, ENDING WITH A MIKE DROP.

>> AMBER, THANK YOU AS ALWAYS. THANKS FOR EVERYONE TUNING IN FROM HOME ON BUILD SERIES. SEE YOU NEXT TIME.

>> BYE. THANK YOU, GUYS. [ APPLAUSE ]
