** As Captioned Live ** AS MUCH AS I LIKE TV AND MOVIES, THERE'S ONE THING I LIKE MORE, AND THAT IS VOTING. YOU KNOW WHAT I LIKE MORE THAN THAT? VOTING BLUE. ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6th IT IS THE MIDTERM ELECTION DAY, MAKE SURE TO VOTE AND VOTE BLUE. IF YOU ALREADY PLAN TO VOTE CHECK OUT A WEBSITE LIKE SWING LEFT. FROM CANVASSING TO PHONE BANKING, A LOT CAN BE DONE IN THESE NEXT FEW DAYS. DO IT. WITH ME TODAY I HAVE DECIDERS DEPUTY EDITOR MEGHAN O'KEEFE AND CHRIS ROSEN. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE.

>> THANK YOU FOR HAVING US.

>> AND FOR COMING TO AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW. I APPRECIATE IT.

>> THAT'S MY FAVORITE PART.

>> DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE NOW?

>> NO, IT'S PART OF THE ENTERTAINMENT.

>> THAT'S TRUE. THEY'RE ALL INTERTWINED.

>> I'VE DONE WAY MORE POLITICAL REPORTING THAN I EVER THOUGHT I'D DO.

>> LET'S TALK TV AND MOVIES. FIRST UP, WE ALL KNOW QUEEN AND THEIR HIT SONGS BUT DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT FREDDY MERCURY WAS GAY?

>> APPARENTLY THE MOVIE "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY DIDN'T.”

>> I JUST NEED A BIT OF TIME.

>> I DON'T HAVE TIME.

>> SO I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS SOON TO BE HIT MOVIE. I DID GET A GOOD LAUGH AT THE BIG BRITISH TEETH IN THE TRAILER OF THE FILM.

>> THEY MAKE A POINT OF THAT. FREDDIE MERCURY HAD MORE TEETH THAN A NORMAL PERSON. HE HAD EXTRA TEETH IN HIS MOUTH. I WISH I WAS MAKING THIS UP. THAT IS IN THE MOVIE. THEY GIVE YOU AN ORIGIN STORY FOR HIS TEETH. THEY GIVE YOU AN ORIGIN STORY FOR HIS MICROPHONE BECAUSE THE MIC STAND WAS BROKEN AT THEIR FIRST BIG.

>> BUT NO ORIGIN STORY FOR THE FACT THAT HE HAD MALE LOVERS.

>> NOT UNTIL ABOUT AN HOUR IN. THE FIRST HOUR HE IS A TRADITIONAL -- YOU KNOW, HE MARRIES -- HE HAS A RELATIONSHIP WITH A WOMAN HE MARRIES. SHE LATER IS LIKE YOU'RE GAY, FREDDIE MERCURY AND HE'S LIKE I AM. AND THEN THEY DO A LITTLE BIT OF A MONTAGE WHERE HE DOES KISS ANOTHER MAN, BUT IT'S ALL VERY CHASED AND NOT REALLY EXPLORED AT ALL. AND IT'S REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE AT THE END. THEY REALLY FUDGED THE TIMELINE, AND, YOU KNOW, NOT TO SPOIL THE END OF THE MOVIE, BUT IT KIND OF CULMINATES WITH A LIVE PERFORMANCE, YOU KNOW, BIG EMOTIONAL MOMENT REVEALING HIS AIDS DIAGNOSIS. THAT ACTUALLY DIDN'T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE UNTIL YEARS LATER. IT IS KIND OF LIKE.

>> THEY FUDGED THE TIMELINE SO THAT FREDDIE MERCURY TELLS HIS BANDMATES AND FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT HE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AIDS AND THEN GOES AND PERFORMS THIS INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE BUT IN REALITY HE JUST DID A PERFORMANCE AND YEARS LATER FOUND OUT.

>> RIGHT. THE MOVIE DOES WEIRD THINGS LIKE THAT WHERE IT DOES KIND OF GLOSS OVER. THEY JUST TRY TO MAKE HIS ACTIONS WEIRDLY LIKE IT'S NOT LIKE I'VE SEEN REVIEWS, THERE IS A READING WHERE THEY KIND OF ARE QUEEN BEING THEM IN THIS CASE. LIKE, THEY MAKE A BIG DEAL OF THE FACT THAT HE GOES SOLO AND KIND OF BREAKS UP THE BAND A LITTLE, WHICH IS SUCH A CLICHE FOR A ROCK DOCUMENTARY OR MOVIE, BUT IN REALITY MEMBERS OF QUEEN RELEASED SOLO ALBUMS BEFORE FREDDIE MERCURY RELEASED SOLO ALBUMS. BUT THAT'S NOT IN THERE.

>> WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT IS THE QUEEN, THE BAND, THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF QUEEN HAVE A HEAVY HAND IN THE SHAPING OF THIS FILM AND SOUNDS LIKE HAVE THEIR SHAPING OF THE FILM HAD A HEAVY HAND IN THE PORTRAYAL OF FREDDIE MERCURY.

>> IT'S A VERY PRO-QUEEN MOVIE I WOULD SAY. BRIAN MAY AND THEY WERE PRODUCERS ON THE MOVIE. THEY'VE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE THE MOVIE FOR A LONG TIME.

>> SACHA BARON COHEN BACKED OUT FOR CREATIVE REASONS.

>> HE WANTED TO MAKE AN R RATED MOVIE THAT WAS MAYBE MORE TRUE TO THE STORY.

>> YEAH, SO HE ACTUALLY WANTED TO TELL THE TRUTH, THAT WAS THE CREATIVE DIFFERENCE?

>> PRETTY MUCH.

>> THAT SAID IT'S GOING TO BE A HUMONGOUS HIT MOVIE, AND THE MUSIC IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE THE QUEEN SONGS ARE GREAT. AND HE DOES THAT -- YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE FROM LONDON VOICE A LOT IN THE MOVIE, AND HE DOES HAVE THE FAKE TEETH, BUT THE THING THAT HE DOES -- YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE FROM LONDON. I'M FREDDIE MERCURY. I LOST IT THERE. HE DOES MOVE LIKE FREDDIE MERCURY IN AN INTERESTING WAY. IT'S A VERY PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE. THERE IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MOVIE FOR SURE IS LIKE THE LAST 20 MINUTES THEY RECREATE THE LIVE AID PERFORMANCE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH OF THIS IS BRYAN SINGER WHO WAS FIRED FROM THE MOVIE BECAUSE OF HIS ALLEGED BAD BEHAVIOR ON SET OR BECAUSE OF DEXTER FLETCHER WHO STEPPED IN TO FINISH THE MOVIE, BUT THE LAST 20 MINUTES IS A RECREATION OF LIVE AID. IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN THE PERFORMANCE ON YOUTUBE, IT IS A REALLY COOL PERFORMANCE OBVIOUSLY, LIKE AN ALL-TIME KIND OF MEMORABLE THING.

>> DO YOU NEED TO SEE -- LIKE WOULDN'T YOU RATHER WATCH QUEEN'S ACTUAL PERFORMANCE ON YOUTUBE OR BUY THE DVD?

>> BUT I'M ALSO LIKE I JUST SAT THERE AND I'M LIKE THESE SONGS ARE GREAT. I LOVE THESE SONGS. THE MOVIE IS -- I SAW IT WITH ONE OF MY FRIENDS. AFTERWARDS WE WERE LIKE IT IS LITERALLY LIKE NO ONE TOLD BRYAN SINGER THAT "WALK HARD" IS A MOVIE. IT IS "WALK HARD" TO THE TEE. IT OPENS UP WITH HIM TO WALK OUT AND PERFORM ON LIVE AID STAGE AND FLASHES BACK TO HIS WHOLE LIFE. IT'S STRAIGHT UP DEWEY COX STORY.

>> THE QUEEN SONGS ARE GOOD.

>> I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR THE QUEEN'S SONGS FOR SURE. I'VE SEEN WAY MORE APPALLINGLY BAD MOVIES THIS YEAR.

>> WHAT IS THE NUMBER ONE MOST APPALLING BAD MOVIE?

>> DEADPOOL 2?

>> THAT WAS MINE.

>> I DIDN'T MIND DEADPOOL 2.

>> I DIDN'T BOTHER SEEING IT.

>>> NEXT UP WE HAVE "BOY ERASED.” IT STARS LUCAS HEDGES, NICOLE KIDMAN AND RUSSELL CROWE AND FOLLOWS A YOUNG MAN WHO IS SENT TO A CONVERSION THERAPY AFTER COMING OUT TO HIS BAPTIST FAMILY. LET'S TAKE A LOOK.

>> GOD WILL NOT LOVE YOU THE WAY THAT YOU ARE.

>> IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT? WHO'S GOING TO STRIKE THIS DEMON DOWN?

>> I'M HAVING A TOUGH TIME.

>> LET ME GIVE YOU SOME ADVICE, TELL THEM WHATEVER THEY WANT TO HEAR. PLAY THE PART UNLESS YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN CHANGE.

>> WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW IS JUST A MOMENT.

>> A MOMENT?

>> YEAH.

>> A MOMENT?

>> I LOVE GOD, AND I LOVE MY SON. FOR YOUR FATHER WAS A LITTLE MORE COMPLICATED.

>> THERE'S A LOT TO LIKE ABOUT THIS MOVIE. LUCAS HEDGES GIVES A GOOD PERFORMANCE. NICOLE KIDMAN IS AMAZING. JOEL EDGERTON IS REALLY GREAT. IT FEELS LIKE THERE'S ABOUT 45 MINUTES MISSING FROM THE MOVIE, THERE ARE CERTAIN PLOT STRANDS THAT DON'T REALLY WORK OUT IN THE END, AND THINGS DON'T REALLY SEEM TO CESS OUT THAT WELL. IT'S KIND OF A HORROR MOVIE. HE DEFINITELY TREATS THIS CONVERSION CENTER AND HIS MAIN CHARACTER AS I WOULD CONSIDER LIKE THRILLER VILLAINS IN A LOT OF WAYS. I THINK IT'S NOT AS GREAT AS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD HOPED IT WOULD BE.

>> WASN'T IT KIND OF ON LIKE EARLY OSCAR HOPEFUL LISTS THAT PUNDITS MAKE EVERY YEAR BECAUSE NOT ONLY THE PEDIGREE OF THE ACTORS BUT ALSO THE CONCEPT? LUCAS HEDGES IS SOMEONE WHO WE'VE ALL LOVED FOR SO MANY YEARS NOW IN DIFFERENT ROLES, AND HE KIND OF GETS TO KIND OF BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT. SO IT'S KIND OF DISAPPOINTING THAT IT'S KIND OF OKAY, PRETTY GOOD, BUT NOT AMAZING.

>> IF YOU WANT TO SEE LUCAS HEDGES BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT, AND YOU WANT TO SEE HIM PERFORM REALLY WELL AND YOU'RE IN NEW YORK CITY, HE'S IN THE WAVERLY GALLERY ON BROADWAY. IT'S A PULITZER PRIZE PLAY. HE'S THE STAR, HE DELIVERS A HEARTBREAKING MONOLOGUE THAT WILL PUT YOU ON YOUR KNEES.

>> BUT CAN YOU STREAM IT ANYWHERE?

>> NO, YOU CANNOT. AND EVERYONE AROUND HIM IS MORE COMPELLING AND FASCINATING BECAUSE THEY'RE VERY FLAWED WHETHER THEY'RE VILLAINS OR WHETHER THEY'RE HIS PARENTS, AND HIS CHARACTER IS KIND OF JUST SUPPOSED TO BE THE GATEWAY TO ALL OF THIS AND THEREFORE BECOMES KIND OF FLAT WHILE YOU BECOME MUCH MORE INTERESTED IN PEOPLE IN THE PERIPHERY. KIND OF LIKE THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST. WHILE DELIVERING A GREAT PERFORMANCES, SHE'S SURROUNDED BY MUCH MORE INTRIGUING IDIOSYNCRATIC CHARACTERS.

>> I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS YET EITHER, BUT I WATCHED AN INTERVIEW WITH LUCAS HEDGES WHERE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SOURCE BOOK THAT IT WAS BASED ON, AND THERE'S A LOT OF LIKE THAT CHARACTER'S INNER MONOLOGUE AND HOW THE SCRIPT IS NOT THAT. HE'S GOT TO INTERNALIZE A LOT OF THE STUFF THAT IN THE BOOK IS BLATANTLY SPELLED OUT. IT'S NOT SURPRISING FOR ME TO HEAR THAT IT IS KIND OF LIKE HE IS JUST LIKE A BLANK SLATE BASICALLY, AND HE'S JUST GOT TO REACT TO THINGS IN THE MOVIE. I DO LOVE LUCAS HEDGES, TOO, IT'S A BUMMER THIS KIND OF FEELS LIKE IT GOT LOOPED IN WITH "A BEAUTIFUL BOY" AND LUCAS HEDGES HAS ANOTHER MOVIE COMING OUT CALLED "BEN IS BACK.” THEY ALL LIKE HAVE THE SAME ACTORS OR CROSSOVER IN TITLES.

>> ALL OF LADY BIRD'S BOYFRIENDS.

>> LADY BIRD'S BOYFRIENDS GET SAD.

>> I WILL SAY JOEL EDGERTON WRITES AND DIRECTS THIS MOVIE AND IS ONE OF THE MAIN ACTORS. I THOUGHT HE WAS PRETTY GREAT IN IT. IT'S A BIT OF A CAMPY ROLE AT TIMES, BUT IT'S INTENTIONALLY SO GIVEN THE REAL-LIFE STORY OF THIS PASTOR. HE'S FUN TO WATCH IN THE SAME WAY THAT HE WAS KIND OF FUN TO WATCH IN "THE GIFT" AND A FEW OTHER ROLES OF HIS. I THINK HE'S ONE OF THE BETTER ACTORS WORKING RIGHT NOW. SHOULD WE MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE?

>> WHY NOT.

>>> THE NEXT MOVIE IS BY MATTHEW HEINEMAN AND HE MADE DOCUMENTARIES. THIS IS HIS FIRST NARRATIVE FEATURE. IT'S CALLED "A PRIVATE WAR.” IT CENTERS ON THE TRUE STORY OF ONE OF THE MOST CELEBRATED WAR CORRESPONDENTS AND HER TIME IN THE SYRIAN CITY OF HOMS. LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE TRAILER.

>> I HATE BEING IN A WAR ZONE, BUT I ALSO FEEL COMPELLED TO SEE IT FOR MYSELF.

>> BECAUSE YOU'RE ADDICTED TO IT.

>> THEY'LL KNOW WHERE WE ARE.

>> WE DON'T HAVE TIME!

>> NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO WHAT YOU DO.

>> SHE NEEDS TO GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE.

>> WE HAVE TO GO BACK.

>> WE WILL DIE IF WE GO BACK.

>> I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW YOUR STORY.

>> YOU KNOW, I'VE HEARD MIXED THINS ABOUT THIS MOVIE. I THINK ROSAMUND PIKE IS A GREAT ACTRESS, AND ALSO HE'S A GREAT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER. THE TRADE WHICH WAS ON SHOW TIME AND HIS DOCUMENTARY OF THE CARTEL OR "CARTEL LAND" I BELIEVE, CLEARLY SHOWED A FILMMAKER WHO KNEW HOW TO DIG IN AS HARD AS HE COULD TO GET THE SHOTS HE NEEDED. I BET YOU GET A LITTLE BIT IN THIS AS WELL.

>> SHE'S ONE OF THE ACTRESSES WHO WE GET TO SEE EVERYTHING SHE CAN DO IN "GONE GIRL.” IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE SHE'S GOTTEN A FAIR --

>> ONLY HER AND SHARON STONE CAN DO THAT.

>> ONLY IF THEY DYE THEIR HAIR.

>> IS THAT A TRICK YOU'VE BEEN TRYING TO PULL OFF?

>> I CAN KEEP MY OWN SECRETS, OKAY? NO. BUT NO, SHE IS TREMENDOUS. OTHER FILMS, TOO, BUT SHE NEVER SEEMS TO HAVE A MEATY COMPLEX ROLE AND AED INTO SPLASHY FILM. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN THAT. THERE'S BEEN MIXED THINGS SAID ABOUT IT. I KEEP HEARING SHE'S AMAZING AND IT'S HER BEST PERFORMANCE SINCE "GONE GIRL".

>> I THINK SHE WAS ROBBED OF AN OSCAR THAT YEAR MYSELF. I STILL LOVE THAT PERFORMANCE.

>> DO YOU REMEMBER WHO WON THAT YEAR OVER HER?

>> IT WAS 2012, RIGHT?

>> 2012. YEAH. I DON'T REMEMBER WHO WON THAT YEAR EITHER.

>> IF IT WASN'T HER, YOU KNOW-

>> MAYBE IT WAS MERYL.

>> WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT LATER.

>>> TYLER PERRY IS BACK WITH ANOTHER MOVIE, PROBABLY HIS SIXTH THIS YEAR, AND THIS TIME WITH TIFFANY HADDISH STARRING IN WHAT IS PERRY'S FIRST R RATED COMEDY. SHE PLAYS A WOMAN FRESH OUT OF JAIL TRYING TO GET BACK ON HER FEET WHILE STAYING WITH HER POLISHED BY THE BOOK SISTER.

>> SHE'S NEVER EVEN SEEN HIM.

>> WE'RE PRETTY SURE THE GUY YOU TALKED TO ISN'T REAL.

>> DANG, GIRL.

>> I SAW BRIDESMAIDS, I WILL TAKE A SHIT IN THIS DRESS.

>> PLEASE DON'T DO THAT.

>> BEST WAY TO GET OVER A MAN IS TO GET UP UNDER A NEW ONE.

>> WATCH AND LEARN.

>> THERE'S A VALVE ON THE BACK THAT GETS STUCK SOMETIMES. NOW PUT TWO FINGERS UP IN THERE. YEAH AND MOVE THEM AROUND A LITTLE BIT. YEAH, MOVE THEM AROUND.

>> SO I'M JUST GOING TO SAY ONE THING ABOUT TYLER PERRY MOVIES, I LIKE THEM.

>> THAT LOOKS AWESOME.

>> TYLER PERRY MOVIES ARE REALLY FUN. THEY ARE NOT VERY WELL MADE. YOU CAN TELL THEY WERE SHOT IN ABOUT THREE DAYS. THE EDITING IS BAD, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS AN ENERGY TO THEM THAT IS KIND OF INFECTIOUS AND REALLY FUN. IT'S ALMOST PART OF THEIR CHARM THAT YOU'RE LIKE OKAY, THAT CUT DIDN'T MATCH WITH THE LAST ONE, BUT I'M KIND OF DOWN, LET'S GO.

>> HOW MANY MOVIES NOW HAS TIFFANY HADDISH BEEN IN?

>> IT'S RIDICULOUS.

>> I KNOW SHE'S JOKED ABOUT SHE'S CONSTANTLY WORKING. SHE IS CONSTANTLY WORKING AND STILL SO CHARMING. SHE'S BEEN THIS BREATH OF WONDERFUL FRESH AIR IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF THAT I THINK OUR SOCIETY AS A WHOLE NEEDED TO SURVIVE WHAT WE'RE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW.

>> SHE'S BEEN OUR ONE LIFE RAFT THIS PAST COUPLE OF YEARS?

>> MAYBE.

>> THAT AND THE SHALLOW BY LADY GAGA.

>> I LIKE THAT. SHE WAS IN THE OATH WHICH WAS OUT FOR FIVE MINUTES. SHE WAS IN "NIGHT SCHOOL," THE KEVIN HART ONE, I THINK, AND THEN THIS. I'M MISSING ONE. I FEEL LIKE SHE'S BEEN IN FOUR OR FIVE MOVIES THIS YEAR. IT'S RIDICULOUS. SHE'S JUST KILLING IT IN EVERY ONE OF THEM. THAT IN THAT TRAILER FUNNIER THAN SOME OF THE COMEDIES I'VE SEEN THIS YEAR, THAT TWO SECONDS OF HER.

>> JUST HER. GREAT, IN.

>> DO YOU LIKE TYLER PERRY MOVIES?

>> THEY'RE FUN.

>> THERE'S ONLY SO MUCH.

>> THERE'S SIX IN A YEAR, HOW MANY CAN YOU SEE?

>> THAT NEV FROM CATFISH IN THE TRAILER.

>> SO SHE GETS CATFISHED IS THIS.

>> I THINK MIA LONG GETS CAT FISHED OR MAYBE SHE GETS CAT FISHED.

>> OR KEGA SUMPTER.

>> IS THAT WHO WAS IN IT?

>> YEAH.

>> GREAT. I'M IN. EVEN BETTER.

>> LET'S MOVE ON TO THE NEXT MOVIE.

>>> IN 1970 ORSON WELLES STARTED WORKING ON HIS LAST FILM. DUE TO LACK OF FINANCES AND I'M SURE A HOST OF OTHER ISSUES IT WAS NEVER COMPLETED. NOW HAVE AFTER MORE THAN 40 YEARS THE MOVIE HAS BEEN RELEASED ON NETFLIX. LET'S LOOK AT THE TRAILER FOR "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND.”

>> THOSE ARE MYSTERIES.

>> COULD YOU PLEASE SLOW DOWN?

>> MR. HANNAFORD.

>> WHEN HE CREATES HE HAS TO WRECK, IT'S A COMPULSION.

>> WANT ME TO BRING YOU ANOTHER SCOTCH?

>> SO WE SHOULD SAY IN THE RELEASE OF THIS, THERE WAS ALSO THIS AND THE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE MAKING OF THIS THAT IS ALSO ON NETFLIX. TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST I'VE WATCHED THE FIRST 30 MINUTES TO SORT OF PREPARE FOR THIS CONVERSATION AND I SHUT IT OFF BECAUSE IT'S ALSO PLAYING AT THE IFC CENTER, AND I KIND OF WANT TO GO SEE ORSON WELLES'S LAST SCENE. FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN, I'D SAY THIS IS A VERY PARTICULAR KIND OF MOVIE GEARED TOWARDS A PRETTY NICHE AUDIENCE AT THIS POINT, WHICH IS MAYBE AN AUDIENCE --

>> DESCRIBE THAT NICHE JUST SO I KNOW.

>> MAYBE YOUNG MEN WHO ENJOYED READING BOOKS ABOUT AUTEUR FILMMAKERS WHEN THEY WERE IN COLLEGE.

>> THAT'S ACCURATE I WOULD SAY. I WATCHED THE DOCUMENTARY AND I WATCHED SOME OF THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND. THE DOCUMENTARY IS CALLED "THEY'LL LOVE ME WHEN I'M DEAD” AND IT'S BY MORGAN NEVILLE. IT'S A VERY ENTERTAINING DOCUMENTARY. IT MAKES THE POINT THAT, A, THE MOVIE IS VERY THINLY VEILED TAKE OF ORSON WELLES IN HIS LATER LIFE. HAD A GREAT SUCCESS AND IS NOW TRYING TO CHASE THAT FOR THE REST OF HIS CAREER. PETER BOGDANOVICH IS IN IT AS A YOUNG FILMMAKER THAT IS OBSESSED WITH AN OLDER FILMMAKER. ORSON WELLES GIRLFRIEND AT THE TIME IS THE LEAD ACTRESS IN "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND.” THERE'S A MOVIE CALLED "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND" WHICH IS JOHN HOUSTON'S LAST MOVIE.

>> WE SHOULD JUST SAY IN THIS FILM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND, JOHN HOUSTON IS PLAYING A DIRECTOR THAT MIRRORS ORSON WELLES AND THIS DIRECTOR CHARACTER IS MAKING A FILM CALLED "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND" WHICH NOBODY UNDERSTANDS BECAUSE HE'S MAKING IT UP AS HE GOES ALONG.

>> I HAVE ONE COMMENT THAT'S NOT RELATED TO EITHER OF THAT, I'M NOT SURE ANYONE WILL UNDERSTAND. I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL NOW THAT BOGDANOVICH LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE GARTH MARENGHI WHEN HE WAS YOUNG. WOW, OKAY. NO, THAT'S TRUE.

>> I WILL SAY AND THIS WILL SORT OF DOVETAIL WELL TO HOME COMING WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THAT, BUT THERE'S SOMETHING THRILLING ABOUT WATCHING "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND.” YOU ARE WATCHING A FILMMAKER MAKE IT UP BY THE SEAT OF HIS PANTS AND CHEW ON WHATEVER FILM STOCK HE COULD TO FIND TO TELL HIS STORY. YOU GET 35 MILLIMETER AT TIMES. IT'S ALL SPLICING IN AND OUT OF THESE DIFFERENT PIECES BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE COULD SHOOT ON AT THE TIME. YOU WATCH SOMETHING LIKE "HOMECOMING" WHICH IS A TELEVISION SHOW, AND IT'S ALL VERY SAFE. YES, THEY'RE SHOOTING ON DIFFERENT FORMATS, BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT ALL FEELS VERY CONTEXTUAL AND VERY CLEAR AS TO WHY EXACTLY THEY'RE DOING THAT. WHEREAS WITH THIS, IT FEELS LIKE YOU'RE WATCHING, AGAIN, SOMEONE FIGURE IT OUT AS THEY'RE MAKING IT WHICH I FIND EXCITING.

>> EVEN LIKE TO THAT POINT, THE TRAILER THAT WE SAW, THE IMAGES, YOU COULD TELL THEY'RE MASTERFULLY COMPOSED AND THERE'S SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT EACH FRAME AND SHOT, WHICH SPEAKS TO THE FACT THAT ORSON WELLES WAS ONE OF THE FOUNDATIONAL GENIUSES OF CINEMA AND MODERN STORY TELLING.

>> WHAT IS CONSIDERED A FOUNDATIONAL GENIUS ABOUT CITIZEN CANE.

>> IS NOT WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO SEE IN THIS MOVIE.

>> WHICH IS COOL. IT'S THE IDEA WHEN A MASTER OF FORM RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE, CITIZEN CANE BEING HIS FIRST MOVIE THAT THEY KIND OF WANT TO THROW IT AWAY. IT'S THIS HYBRID BEFORE ANYBODY WAS REALLY DOING THAT. WITH THIS I THINK HE'S TRYING TO DO SOMETHING SIMILAR TO F IS FOR FAKE.

>> THE DOCUMENTARY MAKES THE POINT KIND OF NOT TOTALLY EXPLICITLY BUT THE DOCUMENTARY STYLE OF FILM MAKING THAT IS VERY PREF PREVALENT NOW, HE WAS PIONEERING THAT SIMILARLY LIKE HE DID WITH CITIZEN CANE HOW HE CREATED LIKE MODERN MOVIE MAKING BASICALLY. HE DOES THAT HERE, THAT HE WAS SO FAR AHEAD OF HIS TIME WITH "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND" AN IMPROVISATIONAL FEEL THAT IS WAY MORE COMMON PRACTICE NOW MORE SO THAN IT WAS THEN. THE DOCUMENTARY IS FUN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING IT, AND "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND," SAY WHAT YOU WILL ABOUT NETFLIX, THE FACT THAT THAT EXISTS ON NETFLIX IS WILD, GOOD FOR THEM PUTTING THAT OUT.

>> THEY LITERALLY PAID FOR THEM TO MAKE THIS MOVIE. WHEN YOU WATCH THIS MOVIE, THEY PAID FOR SOMETHING THAT IS VERY NICHE.

>> YOU CAN WATCH THE FILM AND DOCUMENTARY OR DO THE REVERSE IF YOU WANT SOME CONTEXT FOR THE FILM.

>> I WAS LIKE I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT I'M DOING HERE.

>> I'M GOING TO WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY TONIGHT AND GO SEE "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND” TOMORROW.

>> NETFLIX YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

>> LET'S MOVE ON TO A NETFLIX SHOW. THE SIXTH AND KEVIN SPACEY-LESS SEASON OF "HOUSE OF CARDS". NETFLIX'S FIRST ORIGINAL SERIES COMES TO AN END. CHECK OUT THE FINAL TRAILER.

>> VIOLENCE IS A FUNNY THING. IT'S NOT SO MUCH THE PHYSICAL PAIN THAT VICTIMS CAN REMEMBER. IT'S THE FEELINGS AROUND IT, THE FEAR.

>> EACH ONE OF US HAS TO DEFEND OUR DESTINY, THE FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT GOING TO KEEP HER MOUTH SHUT.

>> IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE AT THE LAST TRUMPET.

>> DEATH IS OVERRATED.

>> THE DEAD WILL BE RAISED INCORRUPTIBLE, AND WE SHALL BE CHANGED.

>> WHO DO YOU FEAR MOST?

>> HER.

>> THIS SHOW IS RIDIC.

>> IT'S SO ABSURD.

>> I THINK THE CHALLENGE SOME VIEWERS WILL HAVE IS THE VERY FIRST SEASON AND IT BECAME LIKE THE FIRST PRESTIGE NETFLIX SHOW, IT WON EMMY'S, YOU KNOW, THE WHOLE THING. NOW IT'S NOTHING LIKE THAT. YOU HAVE TO THROW ALL OF THAT AWAY AND REMEMBER THAT IT'S JUST A BUNCH OF VILLAINS MONOLOGUING.

>> IT HASN'T BEEN THAT FOR SOME TIME. IT'S NOT JUST BECAUSE OF ROBIN WRIGHT. BUT THE LAST COUPLE OF SEASONS WERE PRETTY SILLY, TOO RIGHT?

>> IT FEELS LIKE IT'S BEEN TURNED UP TO 11 AND THEY'RE GOING FOR BROKE AND THEY DON'T CARE ANYMORE. I WAS LIKE THIS IS REALLY WATCHABLE AND FUN. IT'S KIND OF THE ANTI, SLOW BURN NETFLIX SHOW. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. I DON'T THINK I'M SUPPOSED TO. I THINK THEY'RE ALL JUST BACK STABBING EACH OTHER AND KIND OF THREATENING DIALOGUE.

>> THERE'S LIKE VERY SURFACE REFERENCES TO ACTUAL POLITICAL ISSUES, YOU KNOW, LIKE GREG KINNEAR'S LIKE I MAY HAVE ASSASSINATED HER, MAYBE IT'S JUST FOR TAX POLICY PURPOSES.

>> THERE'S A LOVE SCENE AND IT STARTS OFF WITH ONE GUY OUT OF BED AND SWIRLING AN ARNOLD PALMER. HE HOLDS IT UP AND WAS LIKE ARNOLD PALMER IS A GREAT MAN AND IN THE SAME SCENE THAT WOMAN IS LIKE -- THIS IS, NO ONE DOES THIS IN BED.

>> SOME OF THE ACTORS HAVE A HARD TIME SELLING THE STYLE. THERE IS SOMETHING STYLIZED ABOUT THE STYLE AND I THINK ROBIN WRIGHT PENN DOES A GREAT JOB. UNFORTUNATELY DIANE LANE HAS A HARD TIME SELLING THIS STUFF.

>> SHE'S NOT AS STRONG WITH IT. KINNEAR KIND OF GETS IT. HE KIND OF UNDERSTANDS THAT HE'S THE SHADOW. FOR CONTEXT, THIS SEASON ROBIN WRIGHT, THE WIDOWED PRESIDENT CLAIRE UNDERWOOD BUT WE FIND OUT THAT HER BIG RIVALS ARE THIS FAMILY CALLED THE SHEPHERDS, DIANE LANE IS ANNETTE, AND THEY'RE KIND OF LIKE THIS TRIFECTA OF LIKE THE MERCERS AND ALL THOSE SHADOWY BILLIONAIRES THAT CONTROL EVERYTHING.

>> GEORGE SOROS, NO, I'M KIDDING. SORRY. WE CAN'T EVEN DO THAT AS A JOKE, CAN WE?

>> THE MERCERS IT'S MORE ATTUNED TO. GREG KINNEAR SEEMS TO GET THAT HE'S AN OVER THE TOP FADING PERSON IN THIS POSITION. DIANE LANE IS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT LIKE, ARE CLAIRE AND ME FRIENDS. YOU CAN'T QUITE TELL BECAUSE THEY USED TO BE FRIENDS BUT THEY'RE NOT. I JUST FIND IT DELICIOUS. I JUST FIND IT SO FUN.

>> I LOVE ROBIN WRIGHT'S OUTFITS.

>> YES, I WROTE ABOUT THAT TODAY. I'M NOT GOING TO LIE, I WATCHED TWO EPISODES AND EVERY TIME SHE APPEARED ON SCREEN, I'M LIKE DAMN, LOVE THAT.

>> MILITARISTIC, SHE HAS A HELMET BOB, LIKE SHE IS GOING TO MESS PEOPLE UP.

>>> LET'S MOVE TO THE NEXT ONE, JULIA ROBERTS STARS IN THE NEW AMAZON PRIME SERIES, HOMECOMING. SHE MYSTERIOUSLY STOPS WORKING AS A CASEWORKER FOR A FACILITY HELPING SOLDIERS REASSIMILATE INTO THEIR CIVILIAN LIVES.

>> YOU ARE EMPLOYED AT THE HOME COMING SUPPORT CENTER? WHAT WERE YOUR DUTIES THERE?

>> I DON'T KNOW.

>> YOU DON'T KNOW?

>> THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO HELP US.

>> CAN YOU TELL US THE TRUTH?

>> YOU SHOULD THINK VERY CAREFULLY.

>> WHAT DID SHE KNOW?

>> YOU'RE WORRIED.

>> AREN'T YOU?

>> YES, I AM.

>> SO I'VE SEEN A COUPLE OF EPISODES OF THIS. IT'S COOL.

>> IT'S VERY COOL. I'VE ONLY SEEN A COUPLE, TOO, BUT ONE THING IT'S A HALF HOUR DRAMA.

>> WE'RE IN ON THAT.

>> IT'S NO MORE DO YOU HAVE TO WATCH LIKE THREE HOURS TO GET INTO SOMETHING STARTING UP. IT'S LIKE WITHIN THREE HOURS YOU'LL BE HALFWAY OR ALMOST FINISHED THE SEASON. BUT YEAH, IT'S REALLY FANTASTIC. IT'S DIRECTED BY ESMAIL FROM MR. ROBOT AS YOU WERE SAYING. IT FEELS REALLY COOL AND INTERESTING AND VISUALLY IT CREATES THIS SORT OF TENSION THAT YOU KIND OF WILL HONE IN ON WEIRD DETAILS AND WONDER WHAT THAT MEANS BUT IN A REALLY FUN, COOL WAY.

>> MY REFERENCE TO IT WHILE TALKING ABOUT "OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND" WAS NOT TO DISPARAGE IT IN ANY WAY. NOTHING FEELS AS DANGEROUS AS WHAT ORSON WELLES WAS DOING WITH "OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND" IT'S ONLY APPROACHABLE BY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE CONFUSED AND DARED BY WATCHING SOMETHING. I DON'T THINK "HOME COMING" IS THAT CONFUSING. IT'S PLAYING WITH FORMAT IN A PSYCHED WAY.

>> YOU HAD ME AT 30 MINUTES, I CAN'T DEAL THESE DRAMAS ARE TOO LONG NOW. EVEN SABRINA WHICH I LOVED, 55 MINUTES AN EPISODE. 30 MINUTES I'M IN. IT'S BASED ON A PODCAST WHICH I LISTENED TO A FEW OF THE EPISODES FOR. IN THE SHOW IT'S JULIA ROBERTS AND STEVEN JAMES WHO'S HAVING A BIG FALL BECAUSE HE'S ALSO IN BARRY JENKINS'S "BEALE STREET".

>> IT'S LIKE RADIO THEATER BASICALLY. IT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST REALLY BIG PODCASTS WHERE THEY TRY TO CAST BIG NAMES AND DO A RADIO THEATER KIND OF THING.

>> IT GOT A NICE PEDIGREE IN SAM ESMAIL. HE DIRECTED ALL THE EPISODES. I THINK THAT WAS PART OF THE REASON WHY JULIA ROBERTS AGREED TO DOING THAT. SHE'S SO USED TO HAVING DONE MOVIES, NOT TV. SHE WANTED THAT CONSISTENT THROUGH LINE, SO I MEAN, WHAT DOES THIS MOVIE LOOK LIKE, I'M SURE HE'S THINKING THAT AS WELL.

>> DID HE DIRECT A LOT OF "MR. ROBOT" AS WELL?

>> CLOSE TO IT. HE DEFINITELY CREATED THE VISUAL STYLE FOR THAT.

>> I REALLY LIKED IT. I'VE WATCHED TWO EPISODES. I'M EXCITED TO WATCH THE REST OF IT BECAUSE I CAN, BECAUSE IT'S NOT NINE MORE HOURS.

>> YEAH.

>> FINISH IT TONIGHT.

>> YEAH, I CAN FINISH IT TONIGHT. OKAY, GUYS, THIS SUNDAY FAN FAVORITES STAR SERIES OUTLANDER IS COMING BACK FOR ITS FOURTH SEASON WHERE THE CHARACTERS FIND THEMSELVES IN THE NEW WORLD OF AMERICA. TRAILER.

>> EVERYTHING'S IN MY POWER.

>> OH, MY GOD.

>> JAMIE.

>> IT'S A SILVER FILLING, SOMETHING THAT WON'T BE INVENTED FOR 100 YEARS.

>> THIS WILL LEAD TO US FIGHTING IN ANOTHER WAR. WE WILL BE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY AGAIN. A DREAM FOR SOME, A NIGHTMARE FOR OTHERS.

>> I HAVE SEEN THE FIRST SEASON AND A HALF OF THIS SHOW. I'M NOT SUPER INTO IT. I JUST DON'T THINK IT'S MY BAG. I DON'T THINK IT'S MADE FOR ME, AND I'M TOTALLY OKAY WITH THAT.

>> I'VE BEEN COVERING IT SINCE THE FIRST SEASON. I WAS A HUGE FAN OF THE FIRST SEASON. I LOVE THE FIRST HALF OF THE THIRD SEASON. IT CAN BE A HIT OR MISS SHOW FOR ME IF I'M BEING COMPLETELY HONEST. I LOVE THE CAST, I LOVE THE CHARACTERS. I'M SO IN. HOWEVER, WHAT I'VE SEEN SO FAR OF THE NEW SEASON I'M NOT COMPLETELY SOLD, AND THAT'S JUST BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE OUTLANDER, IT REALLY SUCCEEDS WHEN WE ARE THERE WITH SAM AND JAMIE AND CLAIRE, AND WE'RE LIKE FOLLOWING THEIR ROMANCE AND WE'RE FOLLOWING THE EMOTIONAL REALITY OF THIS PREPOSTEROUS SITUATION WHERE SHE'S AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN OF THE 20th CENTURY AND HE'S A SCOTTISH HIGHLANDER FROM THE 1800s, AND THEY LOVE EACH OTHER BUT THEY HAVE CULTURAL DIFFERENCES AND TIME TRAVEL, AND I THINK LIKE THE SEASONS I HAVE DEALT WITH THAT EMOTIONAL WEIGHT, AND THE RAMIFICATIONS.

>> I'M LAUGHING AS YOU WERE DESCRIBING THE SHOW, MY BRAIN WAS GOING NOT FOR YOU, NOT FOR YOU, NOT FOR YOU.

>> BUT IT'S -- I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN WE'RE JUST EPISODE TO EPISODE BEING DRAGGED FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER AND THEY SOMEHOW MANAGE TO LIKE MEET SOME IMPORTANT PERSON AND THERE'S NO REAL REASON FOR THEM TO BE THERE. THEY'RE KIND OF BEING TUGGED ALONG TO HIT CERTAIN POINTS THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY FROM THE NOVELS. I KNOW THAT BOOK FANS REALLY LIKE IT WHEN THE SHOW IS TRUE TO THE NOVELS. I READ THE FIRST BOOK, I LIKED IT. READ PART OF BOOK 2, A LOT TO READ, A LOT TO WATCH. I FELL OFF. AS SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T KEEP UP WITH THE BOOKS, I DON'T ALWAYS GET IT AS A SHOW. I WOULD RATHER THEM JUST GO BACK TO SCOTLAND AND MAKE OUT IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS.

>> DOES IT FEEL A LITTLE LIKE "QUANTUM LEAP" AT THIS POINT?

>> I WOULDN'T SAY THAT BUT, WHO HAS TIME TRAVELED AND WHO WILL TIME TRAVEL, AND THERE'S A LOT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE THAT KEEPS HAPPENING AND A LOT OF VIOLENCE. IT SEEMS NEVER ENDING, AND BECAUSE OF THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT PROGRESSION THE CHARACTERS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE FOUR SEASONS. THEY KIND OF SEEM LIKE THE SAME CHARACTERS THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, EVEN THOUGH TECHNICALLY THEY'VE AGED 25 YEARS. IT'S LIKE THEY STILL HAVE THE SAME BASIC CHARACTER TRAITS. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD LEARN THINGS OR BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT, AND THEY'RE JUST KIND OF HITTING RESET EVERY COUPLE EPISODES IN A NEW LOCATION WITH NEW CHARACTERS.

>> YEAH, FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN OF THE SHOW, THEY WANT TO KEEP THE FIDELITY TO THE BOOKS. THE PRODUCERS HAVE TALKED ABOUT, I THINK THERE'S SOMETHING COMING UP, THAT'S LIKE A CONTROVERSIAL, ANOTHER BIT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE THAT THEY'RE KEEPING FROM THE BOOKS.

>> AND I'VE HEARD THAT TOO.

>> AND THAT MAY BE A LITTLE PROBLEMATIC. THEY DON'T WANT TO CHANGE IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE FANS WANT WHAT'S IN THE BOOKS THE AT SOME POINT MAYBE YOU EVOLVE BEYOND THAT.

>> THE CORE AUDIENCE, WHO IT'S MADE FOR ARE FANS OF THE BOOKS, AND THESE BOOKS HAVE SO MANY FANS.

>> HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CORE AUDIENCE?

>> WELL, YOU WERE DESCRIBING THEM AS --

>> THAT WASN'T MEANT FOR YOU TO THROW ME UNDER THE BUS.

>> HOW MANY BOOKS ARE THERE?

>> LIKE EIGHT OR NINE AT THIS POINT.

>> EIGHT OR NINE. AND THEY'RE BIG. IT'S USUALLY -- THE BOOK'S BEEN AROUND SINCE THE '90s. I COMPARE THEM TO THE CLAN OF THE CAVE. IT'S DEFINITELY IN THE GENERATION LIKE MY MOM'S GENERATION IS ABOUT THE SWEET SPOT. THERE'S A LOT OF WOMEN MY AGE WHO LIKE THE BOOKS AS WELL. DEFINITELY AN OLDER GENERATION, FEMINIST, I WOULD SAY BECAUSE THERE IS A STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER AND IT'S A FEMALE SEXUAL DRAMA. THERE'S A REALLY GREAT SEX SCENE IN THE FIRST EPISODE THAT I WAS LIKE, ALL RIGHT, THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME -- THAT'S WHAT I WATCH OUTLANDER FOR, THANKS.

>> I DON'T THINK YOU'RE ALONE IN THAT REASON.

>> WHY DO YOU THINK OR DO YOU THINK THAT SAM AND CLAIRE ARE CATCHING ON ALL RIGHT?

>> IT'S KATRINA AND SAM AND CLAIRE AND JAMIE.

>> DO YOU THINK THEY WILL BECOME MORE FAMOUS? I FEEL LIKE SAD HAD A FEW MOVIE ROLES. I KNOW HE WAS IN "THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME" EARL THIS YEAR. AND SHE WAS IN A FEW DIFFERENT THINGS. SHE WAS IN LIKE "MONEY MONSTER” WHICH IS DEADLY, AND YOU KNOW.

>> THEY'RE BOTH REALLY GOOD PERFORMERS. THEY BOTH ARE REALLY CHARISMATIC. I ALMOST WORRY ABOUT THE SUCCESS OF THE SHOW. I THINK IT'S BEEN FOR TWO MORE SEASONS. THAT MIGHT HOLD THEM BACK A BIT FROM MOVING ON.

>> IT SEEMS LIKE A COMPLICATED SHOW TO MAKE, TOO?

>> OF THE TWO, THIS MIGHT BE CONTROVERSIAL, I WOULD THINK THAT KATRINA HAS A BETTER SHOT OF MOVING FORWARD BECAUSE SHE -- THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT HER I THINK THAT'S EASILY CASTABLE IN OTHER THINGS, WHEREAS STAN IS SO, HE'S THE EPITOME OF THAT SCOTTISH HIGHLANDER. IF HE FOUND ANOTHER ROMANTIC LEAD THAT WOULD BE HIS WAY OUT.

>> I'M FASCINATED BY THAT JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE A LOT OF SHOWS LIKE THAT IN, LIKE "GAME OF THRONES" WHERE THEY CREATED VERY RECOGNIZABLE PEOPLE AND NOW THAT IT'S ENDING IT'S LIKE WHAT ARE THESE GUYS GOING TO DO.

>> I THINK IT'S NOT WHO YOU THINK IS GOING TO BE THE BREAKOUT. I FEEL LIKE SOPHIE TURNER HAS A BETTER SHOT THAN MAISIE WILLIAMS.

>> I'M FASCINATED BY THAT.

>> BEFORE WE WRAP UP WITH OUR TOP PICKS, WE WANT TO THANK SCREEN CRUSH'S MATT ZINGER WHO ALERTED THE WORLD TO SOMETHING ELSE WE SHOULD WATCH. IT'S THE WORST FIGHT SCENE OF THE YEAR FEATURING MIKE TYSON AND STEVEN SEAGAL, LET'S TAKE A LOOK FOR A BRIEF MINUTE.

>> I DIDN'T KNOW WHY HE DID THE EAR THING, BUT SOMEONE IMMEDIATELY SAID HOLYFIELD. HE SLAPPED THE EAR AND DID A REFERENCE TO HOLYFIELD. BUT I THOUGHT THAT'S ALSO A BAD -- WHY DIDN'T HE BITE HIS EAR. WHY DID HE SLAP IT? THAT'S SUCH A WEIRD REFERENCE.

>> I FIGURED IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE EARS BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS EAR BITING, TOO.

>> THE HOLYFIELD THING WAS EAR BITING, BUT THAT WAS AN EAR TAP.

>> I WAS WONDERING IF I WAS WATCHING EARLY SCENES FROM IRON FIST 3 THAT HAD BEEN LIKE THROWN DOWN.

>> CUT?

>> YEAH, CUT. THEY'RE LIKE EARLY REHEARSALS, RIGHT?

>> I'VE WATCHED A COUPLE MORE MINUTES OF THIS MOVIE. MIKE TYSON DOES A STEREOTYPICAL CHINESE PERSON ACCENT.

>> WHAT? WHY?

>> BECAUSE HE'S APPARENTLY THE CHINESE SALESMAN. IT IS SOMETHING ELSE. SOMETHING TO BEHOLD, I WILL TELL YOU.

>>> LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR TOP PICKS FOR THE WEEK. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PICKS?

>> I THINK I'M GOING TO GO WITH "HOUSE OF CARDS" AND "HOMECOMING.” IF YOU'RE GOING TO GO FOR ONE SHOW OR ONE THING, "HOMECOMING” IS YOUR BET. HALF HOUR EPISODES, PRIME VIDEO, IF YOU HAVE A PRIME ACCOUNT, JUST ORDER SOME LARABARS ASK BINGE WATCH THE SHOW.

>> I'LL GO WITH THE WELLES. I THINK THEY'RE FASCINATING THAT THEY EXIST. FOR THEATRICAL, YOU HAD HAVE A WORSE TIME THAN GOING TO SEE "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY". IT'S SO BAD.

>> IT IS. AND NOW YOU'RE RECOMMENDING IT?

>> I THINK PEOPLE WOULD HAVE FUN. PEOPLE DID THAT TO ME WITH VENOM WHERE THEY WERE LIKE IT'S SO BAD, YOU'LL HAVE SO MUCH FUN. THEN YOU GO TO SEE VENOM AND THE FIRST HOUR IS UNWATCHABLE, AND THEN HE BECOMES JIM CARREY IN THE MASK FOR THE LAST 30 MINUTES AND YOU'RE LIKE THAT WAS FUN, BUT I HAD TO SIT FOR AN HOUR, AND IF I PAID FOR THIS, I'D BE PRETTY PISSED. I'M LISTENING TO LIKE TEN DIFFERENT QUEEN SONGS THAT ARE AWESOME. I DON'T KNOW.

>> WHAT IF I JUST TOOK OUT MY QUEEN ALBUM?

>> YOU CAN LISTEN TO SPOTIFY, TOO, BUT THEN YOU DON'T HEAR --

>> A PLAY LIST OF QUEEN VIDEOS.

>> WITH HIS EXTRA TEETH.

>> THAT'S REALLY WHAT I WANT THIS WEEKEND.

>> MY PICKS ARE GOING TO BE "HOMECOMING" AND THE WELLES ON NETFLIX. THAT DOES IT FOR US. BIG THANKS TO MEGHAN AND CHRIS. LET'S GIVE THEM A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR JOINING US.

>> THANK YOU.

>> AND JUST A HEADS-UP FOR ALL OF YOU MASSIVE WEEKEND WATCH LOVERS OR WEEKEND WATCH HEADS AS WE REFER TO YOU. WE ARE DARK NEXT WEEK. HOPEFULLY THAT WON'T BE BECAUSE DEMOCRATS LOST THE MIDTERMS AND I'M UNABLE TO GET OUT OF JAIL OR BED OR WORSE YET THE PRESIDENT FEELS EMBOLDENED AND IMPRISONS ALL OF US. YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT CONTENT IS WORTH WATCHING NEXT WEEKEND WITHOUT ME. I KNOW IT'S SCARY. YOU'LL BE FINE. SEE YOU IN TWO WEEKS, AND MAKE SURE TO VOTE BLUE TO SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY ON TUESDAY. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

>> DO IT.

>> OKAY. BYE. \M\M
