>>> HEY, EVERYONE, WELCOME BACK TO BUILD. I’M BRITTANY JONES-COOPER. FROM THE CREATOR OF "MAD MEN", THE ROMANOFFS IS A CONTEMPORARY SERIES SET AROUND THE GLOBE, FEATURING EIGHT SEPARATE STORY S OF PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THEMSELVES TO BE DESCENDANTS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY. BUT FIRST HERE'S A CLIP.

>> OF COURSE YOU CALLED.

>> ANY NEWS?

>> NO, NOTHING. I CAN'T HEAR YOU. WHERE ARE YOU?

>> HOLD ON. I HAD A DREAM THAT SHE HAD A BABY. IT WAS A BOY, BY THE WAY. WE KNOW THAT ALREADY. REALLY? SO HOW IS SHE?

>> SERENE, LIKE A BOA CONSTRICTOR DIGESTING AN ELEPHANT.

>> SO THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN?

>> NO. SHE'S A WEEK OVERDUE ALREADY. I'M JUST TRYING TO GET AN IDEA OF THE TIME LINE.

>> EVERYONE GIVE IT UP FOR AMANDA PEET. HOW ARE YOU?

>> I'M WELL. MIC'S ARE WEIRD. I FORGOT, I FORGOT.

>> HOW ARE YOU?

>> I'M GOOD.

>> WE'RE GOING TO DO THIS.

>> WE'RE GOING TO USE THESE.

>> OR WE CAN JUST YELL AT EACH OTHER. I'M DOWN. I GOT TO CHECK OUT A COUPLE OF EPISODES OF ROMANOFFS. THE OPENING SEQUENCE OF THE SHOW HAS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST LIKE CAPTIVATING WEIRD, CRAZY THINGS I'VE SEEN. LIKE WHEN YOU FIRST SAW THAT, WERE YOU LIKE WHAT IS THAT?

>> YEAH, I DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL THE PREMIERE IN NEW YORK. I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING TO DO THAT. I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ROMANOFFS EXCEPT FOR MY EPISODE. EVERYTHING WAS SHROUDED IN SECRECY. YES, IT WAS A VERY VIOLENT, SURPRISING BEGINNING.

>> BUT IT DEFINITELY SETS YOU UP, LIKE, OH, THIS IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING?

>> YEAH.

>> AND SO THE ROMANOFF FAMILY OBVIOUSLY IS THE RUSSIAN ROYAL FAMILY. WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE STILL SO FASCINATED BY IT? EVERY COUPLE OF YEARS WE SEE NEW BIOGRAPHIES ABOUT IT OR SOMETHING CRAZY.

>> I DON'T KNOW ALL THE REASONS. I THINK SOME OF IT HAS TO DO WITH OUR FASCINATION WITH CELEBRITY AND ROYALTY AND THEN ALSO, I GUESS, THE VIOLENT WAY THEY DIED AND THIS IDEA THAT SOMEONE ESCAPED AND, YEAH, AND I GUESS WHAT DOES ROYALTY REALLY MEAN? DOES IT REALLY MEAN ANYTHING? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE A LEGACY?

>> WHICH IS EXPLORED THROUGH EVERY EPISODE. I'LL LET YOU DESCRIBE WHAT IT'S ABOUT. EACH EPISODE IS DIFFERENT. BUT IN GENERAL WHAT IS THE THING THAT KIND OF CONNECTS THEM?

>> OH, WELL, I THINK MATTHEW WAS TRYING TO WRITE ABOUT EACH STORY TOUCHES ON THE IDEA OF ENTITLEMENT AND THE IDEA OF LINEAGE AND SO WHAT IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE ROMANOFFS. A LOT OF THE ONES THAT I'VE SEEN SO FAR HAVE TO DO WITH, YOU KNOW, GETTING YOUR COMEUPPANCE FOR HAVING BEEN ELITIST, OR YOU KNOW, YOUR DOWNFALL.

>> THAT'S INTERESTING. YEAH, AND IT'S FUNNY HOW HE TIES THAT EGO INTO THEIR RELATIONSHIPS. THERE'S A ROMANTIC THING IN EACH EPISODE TOO AND HOW THAT EGO IMPACTS THAT RELATIONSHIP. I WAS REALLY FASCINATED ABOUT IT. I SAW ANASTASIA AS A KID. THEY LIKE MADE A CARTOON OR A DISNEY MOVIE, AND I REMEMBER SPIRALING AS A KID. THIS STORY IS SO MESSED UP. IT IS SO INTRIGUING. TELL US ABOUT YOUR STORY IN THE ROMANOFFS.

>> I PLAY A MOTHER WHO'S WAITING TO HAVE HER FIRST GRANDCHILD, AND THERE IS -- WHAT DEVELOPS OVER THE COURSE OF THE EPISODE IS JUST THAT THERE'S SOME QUESTION ABOUT WHO THE REAL FATHER OF MY DAUGHTER IS, SO WHO THE REAL GRANDFATHER IS, AND SO THAT'S SORT OF WHAT IT'S ABOUT.

>> AND DOES IT MATTER, I GUESS, IS THE QUESTION.

>> YOU MENTIONED THAT YOUR CHARACTER IS GOING TO BE A GRANDMOTHER, WHICH YOU KNOW THAT'S RIDICULOUS, RIGHT? LIKE YOU DON'T -- YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE A GRANDMOTHER.

>> YOU'RE VERY SWEET.

>> YOU HAVE LIKE A GROWN DAUGHTER IN THIS THING, I'M LIKE WHAT?

>> AS A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN IN ENTERTAINMENT, I'M -- I THINK ABOUT AGE A LOT. I'M SURE IT'S NOT JUST BECAUSE I'M IN ENTERTAINMENT, I'M SURE JUST ANYONE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN, THEY'RE ALMOST LIKE -- IT'S ALMOST LIKE A TAXI METER, THEM GROWING ON YOUR KITCHEN WALL IS LIKE ALMOST LIKE A CONSTANT COMMENT ON YOUR OWN AGE. SO YEAH, I THINK ABOUT IT A LOT, BUT I WAS A LITTLE BIT LIKE, WOW, OKAY. I AM A GRANDMOTHER.

>> WHEN YOU READ THE SCRIPT, DID THAT -- WAS THAT SOMETHING THAT WAS ATTRACTIVE TO YOU TO TRY THAT OUT, OR WAS IT AT FIRST SORT OF UNSETTLING?

>> THE FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED WAS I GOT THE SCRIPT, AND BECAUSE IT WAS A REALLY BIG PART AND I THOUGHT IT WAS SO BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, I WAS PRETTY SURE THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE THAT I HAD GOTTEN IT. AND THEN WHEN I REALIZED SHE WAS A GRANDMOTHER AS WELL, IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE PERHAPS THIS WAS JUST GOING TO BE SOME FUNNY ANECDOTE WHERE MY AGENTS MEANT TO SEND ME SOMETHING ELSE. BUT THEN MATT SAID THAT HE DID MEAN TO SEND IT TO ME, SO I WAS DELIGHTED AND SO MANY OF MY OWN FEELINGS ABOUT BEING -- HOW SURREAL IT IS TO BE THIS OLD, YOU KNOW, DOING THE SHOW WAS REALLY A RECEPTACLE FOR ALL OF MY ANXIETIES THAT I HAVE PERSONALLY AND PROBABLY MY ANXIETY ABOUT EVEN THE FACT THAT I WAS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY A GRANDMOTHER. THAT'S USUALLY FUN WHEN THE ACTUAL ROLE YOU CAN LET SOME OF THAT ANXIETY OUT.

>> I WAS GOING TO SAY, YOU WERE PROBABLY ABLE TO USE SOME OF THAT. YOUR CHARACTER IS KIND OF THIS CONTROLLING, ANXIOUS WOMAN?

>> YES, YES, AND WHEN -- ARE WE ALLOWED TO SWEAR?

>> YES. OH, GOOD. THAT'S AWESOME.

>> YES, GIRL, GO. ONE OF MY FAVORITE LINES IN THE SHOW WHEN I READ IT WAS FUCKING MILLENNIALS, AND EACH TIME I SAID IT IT WAS JUST LIKE THIS RELISHING OF THIS MOMENT.

>> I ALSO LOVE THAT SCENE BECAUSE IT MADE ME THINK TO LOOK FOR OUTLETS IN BUSHES. I WAS LIKE, I NEVER THOUGHT TO DO THAT.

>> IT'S INFORMATIVE.

>> YOU CHANGED MY LIFE A LITTLE BIT WITH THAT.

>> I'M SO HAPPY.

>> I DO LOVE THAT YOUR CHARACTER IS PLAYING A WOMAN WHO HAS A DAUGHTER WHO'S LIKE A MILLENNIAL IN HER EARLY 20s. THE CONVERSATIONS AND THE DYNAMIC BETWEEN YOU TWO IS REALLY INTERESTING AS IT COMES TO WOMANHOOD, SO YOUR CHARACTER IS KIND OF VERY PROGRESSIVE, AND THEN SHE HAS THIS DAUGHTER WHO'S A THROWBACK, AND I LOVED SEEING THAT CONVERSATION HAPPEN. IT'S SOMETHING THAT I'M SEEING ALL THE TIME WITH MY FRIENDS AS WE ALL MAKE DIFFERENT CHOICES, YOU KNOW?

>> YEAH, I MEAN, I THINK WE WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW THERE ARE SOME MILLENNIALS WHO DON'T EVEN -- THEY'RE JUST NOT REALLY PHASED BY THE CONCEPT OF FEMINISM BECAUSE THEY'VE COME SO FAR THAT IT'S ALMOST PECULIAR OR IT'S A FOREIGN CONCEPT, ANYWAY. SO YEAH, I FOUND THAT PART OF THE RELATIONSHIP PRETTY PROFOUND AND THE FACT THAT SHE'S SURPRISINGLY INTUITIVE AT THE END, I FEEL LIKE IS REALLY KIND OF BEAUTIFUL, MOTHER, DAUGHTER THING.

>> BUT YOU'RE ALWAYS SO COMPLICATED, AND I DON'T THINK ANYBODY IS ABLE TO WRITE MORE COMPLEX CHARACTERS THAN MATTHEW WEINER. YOUR CHARACTER JULIE HAD SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING IN A DAY IN HER LIFE.

>> AS "MAD MEN" IS EVIDENCE AS WELL. HE'S A SPECTACULAR WRITER FOR WOMEN.

>> WHAT WAS IT LIKE FILMING IN NEW YORK? THE ROMANOFFS IS FILMED ALL OVER THE WORLD. I THINK I READ SIX OR SEVEN OR EIGHT DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. YOURS TAKES PLACE CLEARLY IN NEW YORK CITY. I KIND OF THOUGHT OF IT LIKE A LOVE LETTER TO THE CITY, YOU DO LIKE A NICE LITTLE TOUR?

>> YEAH, I THINK WITH BERGDORF'S AND CARNEGIE HALL AND THE RUSSIAN TEAROOM, IT'S SO EASY TO TALK ABOUT ELITISM, HE DID IT WITH PARIS AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE ELSE, I'M SURE EVERYWHERE ELSE, TOO THE WAY OUR CITIES ARE SORT OF SECTIONED OFF IN THESE CLASS WARS, BUT IT'S A DELIGHT FOR ME. I GREW UP HERE, AND SO WHEN I SEE THE CAMERA TRUCKS AND THE TRAILERS IN SOME NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE I WALKED AROUND BEING LIKE ACTORS, OH, MY GOD. COULD IT EVER HAPPEN? OR WHEN I WAS LIKE POUNDING THE PAVEMENT DOING AUDITIONS FOR TAMPAX COMMERCIALS, YOU KNOW, IT'S VERY POIGNANT TO ME NOW TO WALK UP TO A SET AND ACTUALLY BE HIRED ON THAT PARTICULAR PRODUCTION.

>> THAT'S SO COOL. AND EACH -- I KIND OF LIKE TO CALL EACH OF THESE EPISODES LIKE A LITTLE MOVIE. THEY'RE OVER AN HOUR LONG, AND THERE'S LIKE THE FULL CONCLUSION AT THE END. YOU GET YOUR TAKE AWAY. WAS THAT SOMETHING THAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE PROJECT? THERE'S A TIME FOR -- THAT WAS ON A SHORT EPISODE. @10:02

>> I THINK THAT'S HIS STYLE OF WRITING. I THINK THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL ABOUT "MAD MEN" IS IT WAS SUCH A SLOW BURN, THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS AND FALLING IN LOVE WITH THEM, AND GETTING TO KNOW THEM AND FORGIVING THEM FOR THEIR, YOU KNOW, TRANSGRESSIONS AND FOIBLES AND, YEAH, HE TAKES HIS TIME. IT'S ALMOST LIKE -- FEELS A LITTLE BIT LIKE A SHORT STORY, I THINK. WHEN I READ IT, I WAS, YOU KNOW, OVER THE MOON THAT I WOULD GET TO PLAY ALL -- THE WHOLE -- RUN THE GAMUT WITH THIS WOMAN.

>> THAT'S WHY I LOVE THAT YOU CAN'T BINGE WATCH THIS REALLY. IT COMES OUT WEEK BY WEEK, AND I LOVE THAT BECAUSE EACH EPISODE IS SO DIFFERENT, AND THAT GETS YOU SO EXCITED FOR THE NEXT ONE, AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT. I THINK IT'S LIKE TAKING YOU BACK TO BE MORE --

>> THE OLDEN DAYS.

>> BEING MORE PATIENT PEOPLE AND ENJOYING THE ART AND TAKING TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT INSTEAD OF JUST LIKE CONSUMING IT AND CONSUMING IT.

>> YEAH, YEAH. YOU SPEAK OF "MAD MEN" AND JOHN SLATTERY IS IN THIS EPISODE WITH YOU. IS THERE A MORE CHARMING MAN ON THIS PLANET?

>> NO, NO. SORRY, DAVID, MY HUSBAND. I MEAN, HE'S JUST SO HANDSOME, AND THEN SO FUNNY AND MY FAVORITE LINE IN THE WHOLE SHOW IS WHEN HE TAKES OUT THE CHINESE FOOD, AND I SAY I'M NOT HUNGRY, AND HE SAYS, THAT'S OKAY, WE CAN JUST LOOK AT IT.

>> I LOVE IT. WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO TO WORK ON YOUR CHEMISTRY, OR WAS IT JUST THAT ORGANIC? BECAUSE IT DID FEEL VERY NATURAL.

>> WELL, I LOVE HIM.

>> THAT HELPS A LOT.

>> SO AND THEN IF YOU ADD LIKE AN ACTING CRUSH TO JUST A KIND OF YOU'RE HOT CRUSH, THEN THAT'S, YOU KNOW, YOU'RE REALLY THERE. YOU'RE IN THE BALLPARK. I CAN'T SPEAK FOR HIM, BUT.

>> IT FELT MUTUAL AS A VIEWER. SO IN ADDITION TO THE ROMANOFFS, I KNOW THAT YOU'VE WRITTEN QUITE A FEW PLAYS.

>> ONLY TWO.

>> THAT'S MORE THAN ME. THAT IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT.

>> THANK YOU.

>> ARE YOU WRITING ANYMORE? WHAT OTHER PROJECTS ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?

>> YEAH, I HOPE SO. I'M TRYING TO CONTINUE WRITING, AND IT'S VERY -- IT'S VERY SATISFYING TO USE A DIFFERENT PART OF YOURSELF AFTER THIS LONG AND -- I WISH I HAD GOTTEN TO IT EARLIER, BUT THERE YOU HAVE IT.

>> WHAT DO YOU DO TO FIGHT WRITER'S BLOCK?

>> WELL, THERE'S SOME CONTENTION IN MY HOUSEHOLD ABOUT WHETHER WRITER'S BLOCK REALLY EXISTS REALLY. YOU HAVE TO COME UP WITH A PLOT. YOU HAVE TO CREATE SUSPENSE, YOU HAVE TO CREATE NARRATIVE MOMENTUM, AND IF YOU CAN'T, THEN YOU'RE ON THE -- YOU'RE BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE, SO -- AND YOU'VE GOT TO WRITE EVEN IF IT STINKS. SO MARK DUPLASS CALLS IT THE DIARRHEA DRAFT, THAT'S WHEN YOU JUST WRITE EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T -- EVEN THOUGH IT'S GOING TO SUCK. SO THAT'S REALLY THE BIGGEST LESSON I FEEL LIKE I'VE LEARNED IS THE -- IS LET YOURSELF DO THE DIARRHEA DRAFT, AND THEN THE REST IS REWRITING. THE REST IS EDITING. HENRY MOORE, THE SCULPTOR WHO YOU START WITH A BIG WAD OF CLAY, AND THEN SLOWLY THINGS START TO APPEAR, SHAVE A LITTLE HERE, SHAVE A LITTLE THERE OR AS MY HUSBAND LIKES TO DO, WHACK THE WHOLE -- YEAH, 100 PAGES OF THAT IN THE GARBAGE AND ONE PAGE WAS GOOD.

>> I MEAN, THAT SEEMS TO BE WORKING FOR HIM, THOUGH, I DON'T KNOW.

>> YEAH, HE'S A VERY GOOD EDITOR AS WELL AS, YEAH.

>> SO YOU MENTIONED YOUR HUSBAND. HE'S ONE OF THE CO-CREATORS AND SHOW OWNERS OF "GAME OF THRONES." I'M NOT GOING TO PUT YOU ON THE SPOT. I'VE SEEN YOU'VE BEEN PUT ON THE SPOT A LOT. I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT TO YOU. I DO HAVE A QUESTION I'VE BEEN CURIOUS ABOUT, OBVIOUSLY "GAME OF THRONES" IS A HUGE HALLOWEEN COSTUME AND YOU HAVE THREE KIDS. ARE THEY INTERESTED IN THAT AT ALL? BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE THE BEST COSTUMES.

>> THEY THINK DAVID AND "GAME OF THRONES" ARE EMBARRASSING PRETTY MUCH, AND EVERYTHING I DO IS PRETTY MUCH EMBARRASSING, INCLUDING JUST THE SCHOOL RUN. JUST MY EXISTENCE IS EMBARRASSING, SO -- AND YEAH, THEY DON'T KNOW "GAME OF THRONES" SO OUR SHOWS ARE RICK AND MORTY AND “ADVENTURE TIME.” DAVID IS GOING TO BE LIKE A HUGE GREEN PENIS WITH A FACE, AND THEN I'M SUPPOSED TO BE LUMPY SPACE PRINCESS FROM "ADVENTURE TIME" AND MOLLY'S GOING TO BE MARCELINE AND I DON'T KNOW IF WE'VE GOTTEN FAR BEYOND THAT. WE WERE FIGHTING OVER WHICH “ADVENTURE TIME” CHARACTERS WE WANTED TO BE. DAVID DECIDED TO TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM AND DO PICKLE RICK. WE'RE LIKE THE SCARY FAMILY COMING DOWN THE STREET TOMORROW NIGHT, LIKE BIZARRE, YEAH.

>> RICK AND MORTY IS LIKE A THING THOUGH, THERE WAS LIKE A POP-UP BAR DEDICATED TO THIS.

>> WHAT?

>> WHERE WAS I?

>> I THINK IT WAS IN NEW YORK. I'LL SEND YOU A GOOGLE E-MAIL OR SOMETHING. IT WAS A THING. THERE WAS TWO DIFFERENT ENTRANCES AND A SECRET PASSWORD.

>> YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND.

>> YOU'RE THAT BIG OF A FAN?

>> I'M A PRETTY PSYCHO FAN AND MY HUSBAND AND MY FAMILY, WE'RE LIKE CRAZY PEOPLE.

>> THIS IS A REAL THING UNLESS I MADE IT UP.

>> WE MUST HAVE BEEN -- I DON'T KNOW WHY WE WEREN'T INFORMED.

>> I'LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW THE DETAILS ON THE POP-UP BAR OR IF IT'S GOING TO COME BACK.

>> THANK YOU.

>> I CAN SEE IN YOUR EYES YOU ARE SO SERIOUS.

>> I'M PRETTY SERIOUS. I REALLY, REALLY LOVE IT WHEN WE HAVE A RICK AND MORTY. SOMETIMES WE DON'T HAVE ONE, AND IT'S REALLY NOT GOOD FOR OUR MARRIAGE. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? DO WE HAVE A RICK AND MORTY? IT'S A BIG ISSUE.

>> IT IS FUNNY HOW TV CAN BOND. YOU'RE LIKE THIS IS WHAT WE DO. IF WE DON'T HAVE THIS, HOW DO WE GO TO SLEEP?

>> HOW DOES THIS EVENING -- HOW DO WE GET TO THE END OF THE EVENING?

>> THAT'S ME WITH RERUNS OF 30 ROCK.

>> ANY RICK AND MORTY QUESTIONS?

>> SORRY, NO.

>> OKAY. FAIR ENOUGH.

>> SEEING AS YOU'VE TACKLED THE TAMPAX COMMERCIALS AND ARE NOW A GRANDMA, ARE THERE ANY ROLES OR GENRES YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY THAT YOU HAVEN'T YET?

>> I DON'T REALLY THINK OF GENRE AND ROLE AS MUCH AS I JUST THINK ABOUT GOOD WRITING VERSUS MEDIOCRE WRITING VERSUS LOUSY WRITING, SO YOU KNOW, I DON'T -- YEAH, I MEAN, ONE OF THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT BROCKMIRE, THE SHOW I'M DOING WITH HANK AZARIA IS THAT I'M NOT A MOM AND I'M NOT A MIDDLE AGED WOMAN WHO'S DYING TO HAVE A BABY OR DYING TO GET MARRIED OR GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE. LIKE, I LIKE THAT SHE'S JUST A WOMAN OBSESSED WITH BASEBALL WHO HAPPENS TO BE THIS AGE AND GO. SO YOU KNOW I'D BE LYING IF I SAID I DIDN'T CARE AT ALL, BUT -- THE WRITING IS THE THING, YOU KNOW? SO IF I WERE GOING TO PLAY A MOM, I WOULD DO A WHOLE THING ABOUT A MOM AS I DID FOR MATTHEW WEINER. IF IT'S GREAT, THEN IT'S GREAT.

>> AND THIS WAS GREAT. NEXT QUESTION.

>> MS. PEET.

>> HI.

>> HI.

>> I CAME DOWN FROM COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY. WE HAD THE ROMANOFF DYNASTY WAS FOUNDED IN 1613. IN 2013 WE HAD THE 400th ANNIVERSARY, AND THE REAL DESCENDANTS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY CAME INCLUDING A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF PETER THE GREAT.

>> CAME TO COLUMBIA?

>> YES, HE LIVES IN NEW YORK.

>> OH, OKAY.

>> WHERE THE RUSSIAN CATHEDRAL IS.

>> OKAY.

>> MY QUESTION TO YOU IS, I SPENT TWO YEARS STUDYING THE LAST ROYAL FAMILY NICHOLAS THE SECOND, THE FOUR DAUGHTERS, THE SON, IS THERE ANY QUESTION YOU HAVE?

>> ARE YOU A PROFESSOR?

>> NO, ACTUALLY I'M STUDYING FILM AT COLUMBIA. I'VE BEEN STUDYING FILM AT COLUMBIA IN RECENT YEARS.

>> DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION ABOUT THE ROYAL FAMILY, THEIR HISTORY, THEIR DISAPPEARANCE, THE MURDER, THE RECOVERY OF THEIR BONES, AND THE IDENTIFICATION OF THOSE BONES?

>> YES TELL ME ABOUT THE RECOVERY OF THE BONES.

>> WELL, THEY WERE MURDERED IN SIBERIA IN -- WHICH MEANS KATHERINE IN RUSSIAN IN 1918. THEY WERE TAKEN INTO A FOREST WHERE THE BODIES WERE DISMEMBERED. THEY WERE THROWN DOWN VARIOUS MINE SHAFTS AND ABANDONED, AND THEN THEY WERE MOVED WHEN IT WAS A VERY SLOPPY JOB, AND THEY WERE RECOVERED AND VARIOUS PARTS OF THEM WERE MOVED TO OTHER PLACES, AND THEN -- THAT'S A LONG STORY, BUT FINALLY IN AROUND ABOUT 1991, ANASTASIA WAS SAID TO BE THE MISSING DAUGHTER. SHE'S THE FOURTH DAUGHTER BUT IN FACT IT WAS NOT ANASTASIA. IT'S THE OLDER SISTER CALLED MARIE. SHE'S THE ONE WHO WAS MISSING. HER BONES WERE FINALLY FOUND, AND ALEXI WAS FINALLY FOUND, AND THEY IDENTIFIED PRINCE PHILIP THE QUEEN'S HUSBAND IS THE NEPHEW OF THE CZAR.

>> WAIT, PRINCE PHILIP WHO?

>> PRINCE PHILIP QUEEN ELIZABETH'S HUSBAND.

>> IS THE NEPHEW WITH THE --

>> I THINK I DID KNOW THAT ACTUALLY.

>> THEY TOOK HIS DNA AND MATCHED IT WITH THE LAST RECOVERED BONES FROM SIBERIA, AND IDENTIFIED MARIE AND ALEXI, AND NOW THE ENTIRE ROYAL FAMILY IS BURIED IN ST. PETERSBURG IN THE CATHEDRAL.

>> THIS IS AMAZING. THIS IS AMAZING. IF YOU GUYS NEED A CONSULTANT ON THE SHOW.

>> YEAH. I JUST NEED A MODERN RUSSIAN HISTORY COURSE.

>> YES.

>> THAT'S COOL.

>> IT'S ALL PUBLISHED HISTORY.

>> I LOVE IT.

>> YEAH, I'LL GET RIGHT TO THAT.

>> AFTER RICK AND MORTY.

>> AFTER RICK AND MORTY.

>> AND ONE LAST QUESTION?

>> HI.

>> HI.

>> I WAS WONDERING --

>> IS THIS GOING TO BE LIKE A RUSSIAN REVOLUTION QUESTION?

>> THIS IS NOT.

>> CAN YOU JUST TELL US WHAT HAPPENS?

>> NO. THE BOLSHEVIK'S IN 19 -- NO. I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR YOU WAS PLAYING THIS ROLE?

>> I THINK JUST IT'S ALWAYS A GENERAL SORT OF FEELING OF LIKE YOU CAN'T, YOU SUCK. YOU CAN'T DO THIS, AND YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, AND THAT'S THE SAME WITH WRITING AND I'M SURE A LOT OF PEOPLE FEEL THAT WAY, SO IT'S SORT OF GETTING OVER THOSE VOICES AND JUST GOING -- SOMETIMES WHEN I THINK SOMETHING'S REALLY BEAUTIFUL AND REALLY MOVING IT'S ACTUALLY HARDER FOR ME TO DO IT BECAUSE I FEEL TOO PRECIOUS ABOUT IT, AND I FEEL LIKE IT'S LIKE A FRAGILE VASE THAT I HAVE TO HOLD IN A CERTAIN WAY. YOU HAVE TO GET OVER ALL THOSE VOICES AND NOT BE TOO PRECIOUS ABOUT IT. IT'S HARD. WHEN I LIKE SOMETHING, IT'S REALLY HARD. IT'S LIKE WHEN I USED TO GO SEE DAVE LETTERMAN, LIKE I WAS ALWAYS JUST A MESS BECAUSE I LIKED HIM TOO MUCH. I LOVE YOU, DAVE. I MISS YOU.

>> I TOTALLY RELATE TO THAT. I THINK EVERYBODY CAN RELATE TO THAT, BUT AS SOMEBODY WHO HAS WATCHED IT, YOU NAILED IT.

>> THANK YOU.

>> AND IT WAS SO -- YOUR EPISODE IN PARTICULAR I JUST HAD SUCH A FUN TIME JUST WATCHING AND ENJOYING. I FELT LIKE YOUR CHARACTER BY THE END OF IT, I FELT LIKE I REALLY KNEW HER, WHICH WAS NICE BECAUSE YOU COULD SEE THAT EVOLUTION OF HER THROUGHOUT THAT EPISODE.

>> IT'S FUN TO BE WITH A WOMAN FOR THE DAY THAT SHE'S DECIDING TO TELL -- WHETHER OR NOT TO TELL HER DAUGHTER WHO HER REAL FATHER IS. IT'S LIKE YOU'RE JUST BASICALLY THE CLOCK IS TICKING AND YOU'RE LIKE IS SHE GOING TO TELL HER. IS SHE GOING TO TELL HER.

>> YOU HAD ME SO STRESSED OUT BY THE END OF IT. I WAS WAY TOO INVESTED. THANK YOU FOR THAT. IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, “THE ROMANOFFS,” NEW EPISODES EVERY FRIDAY ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO. GIVE IT UP FOR AMANDA PEET.

>> THANKS, EVERYBODY. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
